I have an opportunity to buy 300 chips from the Shenanadoah Hotel and Casino for $1,000. They are Bud Jones with coin inlay. This casino was Wayne Newtons. It never opened. Is this a good buy or waste of time? Im torn.

Pretty ugly 35 year old chips IMO. Most eBay listings go unsold, the last $5 sold went for $2, last $1 and $25 went for 99 cents each (though randomly/occasionally hit a BIN of up to $10.

If it is the listing I've seen for many months, it is very overpriced IMO, atomic is on it. For that money you could get a better, larger, set of Paulson's I would say.

I believe the price is very high for such a small set of old Bud Jones chips.

Not sure if it is the same eBay auction, but seems the same set has been offered for 7+ (maybe 10??) years. When I was looking for a BJ CIC set, I remember seeing them, I opted for a CB set instead, and was happy I did. While it would be cool to own them from a collection POV, I would rather own a Dunes set.

I don't think you are missing out on anything.

Bud Jones CIC chips like these don't come up much anymore (although I've been seeing that listing forever). They are really nice but they are still way overpriced I think. I think its hard to put a price on them though. My guess would be around $1.50 / chip.
You could always try a WTB ad. You might get lucky
