Calling all PCF'ers (alright, just BGinGA really) :p

I'm looking to put my CPS set into action and have a number of Omaha hi/lo fans here in Florida that I can get together for it. Need a structure that will last around Four hours for a single table of 10 players.

I really want to get those beautiful orange 5K's into play. My set includes:

25
100
500
1K
5K
25K
100K

I was considering the following structure:

STARTING STACK: 300K (3 MILLION CHIPS IN PLAY)

Green 25K x 8
Orange 5K x 17
Yellow 1K x 15

BLINDS - 15 MINUTES EACH

BLINDS: 1K/2K LIMITS: 2K/4K
BLINDS: 2K/4K LIMITS: 4K/8K
BLINDS: 3K/6K LIMITS: 6K/12K
BLINDS: 4K/8K LIMITS: 8K/16K
BLINDS: 5K/10K LIMITS: 10K/20K
BLINDS: 6K/12K LIMITS: 12K/24K
BLINDS: 8K/16K LIMITS: 16K/32K

**color up 1K chips**

BLINDS: 10K/20K LIMITS: 20K/40K
BLINDS: 15K/30K LIMITS: 30K/60K
BLINDS: 20K/40K LIMITS: 40K/80K
BLINDS: 25K/50K LIMITS: 50K/100K
BLINDS: 30K/60K LIMITS: 60K/120K
BLINDS: 40K/80K LIMITS: 80K/160k

**color up 5K chips**

BLINDS: 50K/100K LIMITS: 100K/200K
BLINDS: 75K/150K LIMITS: 150K/300K
BLINDS: 100K/200K LIMITS: 200K/400K

I'm gonna ignore this bit:
(alright, just BGinGA really)

I'd take out the BLINDS: 5K/10K LIMITS: 10K/20K and BLINDS: 25K/50K LIMITS: 50K/100K levels. They're intermediate levels that don't match the rest of the blinds.
You could add a BLINDS: 1K/3K LIMITS: 3K/6K level to provide the players with more play early on.

I'd also recommend not starting with that many chips. 300K with 1K/2K starting blinds is equivalent to 300K with 500/1K NL blinds, so 300BB deep. If you want to finish in 4 hours you should avoid starting deepstacked. 100K startingstacks should be more than sufficient.

@ startingstacks of 100,000, the game should finish around the BLINDS: 40K/80K LIMITS: 80K/160K mark. You could make the blind levels 20mins to get really close to 4 hours.

If you have the chips, start everyone off with:
20x 1K (20,000)
16x 5K (80,000)

Ok, so you like this:

STARTING STACK: 100K (1 MILLION CHIPS IN PLAY)
Orange 5K x 17
Yellow 1K x 15

BLINDS - 20 MINUTES EACH

BLINDS: 1K/2K LIMITS: 2K/4K
BLINDS: 2K/4K LIMITS: 4K/8K
BLINDS: 3K/6K LIMITS: 6K/12K
BLINDS: 4K/8K LIMITS: 8K/16K
BLINDS: 6K/12K LIMITS: 12K/24K
BLINDS: 8K/16K LIMITS: 16K/32K

**color up 1K chips**

BLINDS: 15K/30K LIMITS: 30K/60K
BLINDS: 20K/40K LIMITS: 40K/80K
BLINDS: 30K/60K LIMITS: 60K/120K
BLINDS: 40K/80K LIMITS: 80K/160k

**color up 5K chips**

BLINDS: 75K/150K LIMITS: 150K/300K
BLINDS: 100K/200K LIMITS: 200K/400K

Seems like a pretty big jump from 80/160 to 150/300 though.....

I'd go with this elegant 75BB structure - all 25%-50% increases (averaging 39%). Blinds (not bets) shown below:

10-players, 300K stacks, 20-minute levels

rd sb bb
L1 2000 4000
L2 3000 6000
L3 4000 8000
L4 6000 12000
L5 8000 16000
remove T1000 chips
L6 10000 20000
L7 15000 30000
L8 20000 40000
L9 30000 60000
L10 40000 80000
remove T5000 chips
L11 50000 100000
L12 75000 150000
L13 100000 200000
L14 150000 300000
L15 200000 400000

Most events won't last past L12 (4 hours total with 20-minute levels, breaks extra). Even grayhairs won't get past L14. With a Limit structure, no need for a 1000/2000 starting level.

Meant to mention earlier..... I'd use two barrels of T25K chips to color-up the T1000 (6) and T5000 (34). 440 total chips (three denominations) needed for 10 players (150 / 170 / 120). You could use T100K's, but it will play better sticking with the T25K chips.

Ok, so you like this:

STARTING STACK: 100K (1 MILLION CHIPS IN PLAY)
Orange 5K x 17
Yellow 1K x 15

BLINDS - 20 MINUTES EACH

...
BLINDS: 40K/80K LIMITS: 80K/160k

**color up 5K chips**

BLINDS: 75K/150K LIMITS: 150K/300K
...

Seems like a pretty big jump from 80/160 to 150/300 though.....

Noooooo nononono, I didn't say take out the 50K/100K blinds level. Only the 5K/10K and 25K/50K blinds. But I like BG's suggestion much better (because I don't like doubling the blinds from level 1 to 2).

Still think that 75BB startingstacks are a bit too large for Limit poker and a short tournament. 50BB is plenty for limit (equivalent to 100BB for no limit).
