Hello, PCF

I'm DMZack007, new member on this site. Its nice to be here, I found this site through reddit and this seems like a nice friendly place to hang out, look at sexy poker chips (main reason I'm here) and of course talk some poker.

I eventually hope to be able to buy some chips from a few of the collectors on this site. But I understand theres some requirements to be met an that makes lots of sense. Its nice seeing stuff like that in place, makes me trust buying on here.

Ive been playing poker for about 12ish years, I started when I was younger on hockey and baseball road trips with the team on the bus and made a FullTilt account and played in freerolls/play money. As soon as I turned 18, I got a CC to play online poker with and still continue to play to this day. Im super casual and only can play a few hours a week. I recently bought my first decent set though and super excited to start hosting some cash games soon. 25c/50c with $50 buy-ins and reloads/top ups to 50 bucks. I love the set but it is nothing compared to what some of you folks have here. Im hooked on collecting chips though now for sure, I just want more...I need more chips.

This was the set I ended up going with. https://www.straightpokersupplies.com/cash-club-14g-poker-chips-500-chips-w-alum-case.html
200x 25c
200x $1
100x $5

Anyways, look forward to lurking this site and all your awesome collections of chips!

Welcome to the site @DMZack007

Wonderful to have you on board man! You will find the place full of wonderful folks.

I remember almost pulling the trigger on that exact set you bought. My early beginnings as a poker host were the same, I had a $0.25/.50 cash game with similar buy in top up structure. I purchased a folding table top poker thingy and ran a game. I ended up dealing with a local Vancouver vendor, MRC Poker, for the chips and bought some of these Yin-Yang chips...

I only used them once. Then I was lucky enough to meet @T_Chan who showed me a door and the details thereafter are well chronicled on this site. Home game pr0n, mail pr0n, and chip pr0n.

I want to show you my beginnings. I was able to go back through some old pictures and even amazed myself. What a journey!!! You will find yourself making the most irrational decisions in your life man!

It all started for me with a CPC order or Rounders for Tournament purposes...

(Ahhhhh...sweet beginnings)

Then I wanted a cash set. Had to be Paulson and my first love was Classics. This was my first purchase on PCF...

(Thank you to @asian bino for these)

Then I really caught the bug and fell in LOVE with Jack Detroit. Going through my pictures reminded me how crazy I went and how much money I've blown! Wow! Talk about an addiction...started with a few racks...

(Thank you @Brandon for my start )

I could not be satiated with a few racks, I wanted the whole thing ..

And it took until January of this year 2021, to reach this stage...

Crazy thing is, I just bought more Jack chips to make a small cash set. Talk about a strong addiction!

Enjoy man! Sorry for rambling! It was early in the morning before work and I went down memory lane.

Have fun! Watch your budget! Get samples!

Welcome @DMZack007 ! This place has become a complete obsession for me in the year and a half since I joined. It's a source of daily enjoyment that helps get me through these weird and difficult times.

So many great people on here. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. I know some people are quick to say there's a search feature, but with so much information on here sometimes it's worth it just to ask directly. But yes, there's also a search feature which will bring up years and years worth of amazing history and content.

As you can see from @Jeevansluck pictures, this is a very slippery slope. I started off with my own 25/50 cash game and I upgraded to some really low quality chips that I thought were so hot at the time. No one else I plays with cares about chips. But when I realized there was more out there and I stumbled upon this place, the flood gates opened.

A lot of people ask me why I still hang out here even though I have about 8,000 chips and counting. And my answer is because there's still so much to learn. The history of poker chips is just fascinating, and there's a lot of information here about that. Let's just hope you don't get bit by the TRK bug :-)

stunning chips. Wow.

Glad you found your way here. Usually I say the more Canadians the better. However today it's got to be the more Albertans the better.
A fellow Albertian! Glad to be here with you all :)

Hello and welcome!

Bond fan, perhaps?
Ive been known to enjoy and dabble in the odd Bond film/book haha.

Do... do I google TRK?

Thanks for the warm welcomes. This place is super friendly and im stoked to be here.

Do... do I google TRK?
I was specifically vague in hopes that you would Google for it and subsequently fall in love and open your wallet.

TRK stands for TR King chips, which are very old, very awesome and very coveted. You can see many pictures of TRK chips by searching the forums here. Also, there's actually a PCF glossary where you can find it: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/resources/pcf-glossary.5/

Here's one of my favorites TRKs:https://www.pokerchipforum.com/media/trk-mixed-set-002.9943/

You can just search it out on the site. Amazing chips man! Unreal sound and feel, like NOTHING else.

I was drawn to their weight and sound. Pure and simple. They literally give off, to me at least, some kind of nostalgic old casino vibe. I can't explain.

This is my pride and joy of the TRK world...

Not gonna lie though, some you find may look like this . . .

Never fear though, takes a warm soapy bath, some light mineral oiling, and BOOM!...

Normally I'm all gooey for blue $1s, but your NV Lounge $5s are something else!!!
