Hello. I have always been into poker and totally obsessed with the chips, the colors, the sounds, and the history. I am looking to get a set of Paulsons eventually or maybe some customs from CPC but I just want to know what all is out there. I would also like to know what some of the terminology means here on the site like "bump", or "fracs". Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,

Fracs = fractional - Anything less than a dollar: 10 cent, 25 cent, or 50 cent chips are fracs.

Bump is just when you post something in a thread which in turn "bumps" it back up to the first page you see when the classifieds is opened.

CPC is awesome and you can't go wrong. I would recommend if you are willing to spend that money also employ a designer. Some of the sets I see where people try and do it themselves don't look very good.

Rather than jumping straight to CPC's, you might also consider looking into Sun-Fly hybrids for your first attempt at customs. They're *much* more economical than CPC's. Regardless, if you end up going the customs route, be sure to post some preliminary mock ups to the board so you can get some feedback from those who have gone before you.

Regardless of what you do, get samples first!

Nice to meet you. I posted on here about some samples I just received in another thread talking about how they were damaged due to the excessive heat. I would link to it but I am technologically illiterate and don't know how to do that. I actually don't mind the heat here in the valley, but evidently poker chips do.

Good! My girlfriend just received her sample set of Grand Victorias and they were all just fine. It was a little cooler that day but still blazing hot.
