I'm sorry I'm a little late with this.

I'm a middle aged guy from NJ that usually plays really low stakes cash games with my old friends from high school. We usually play $10 buy in games with unlimited re-buys with 10/20 cent or 5/10 cent blinds (which limits the re-buys). The games hardly get too crazy and no one usually re-buys more than twice in a night.

I've played poker as a casual player since I was in high school but took a break starting in college after hitting the books, and before I knew it, I was busy with my first job, girlfriend (now my wife), grad school while working, and over 10 years later, just getting back into the swing of things!

I'm working on bridging the gap between a novice that knows the basics with bet sizing and understanding table position to a competent player that can understand how to bet for value, setting ranges on other players, not making my ranges so tight, etc.

I have a Scroll ceramic chip set that I use for tournaments when I have only a couple of friends over and now just purchased a Majestic CC chip set for my usual cash games (will post chip porn when they're done drying. I oiled half and the other half are still unoiled). My fingers started to get calluses after the first 500, so I took a break.

I can't (don't really want to!) afford a set of Paulson's all at once, but I'm hoping to be able to put together a decent cash set of about 500-600 chips to bring out on special occasions. If anyone has some low denomination or Paulson fracs (just learned that term!) for sale, I'd be all ears. I especially like the Horseshoe Cincinatti's or Clevelands. I'd be looking to buy about a rack or maybe two at a time. Happy chipping!

Most people here are making their own custom fracs by using an aftermarket unlaminated sticker on top of an existing chip's inlay.
Other options that also work are using non-denominated chips, like a Starburst, a roulette chip, or a solid with miscellaneous initials on them.
Take your time, get to know the people and the products around here, look at the pr0n, and build when you can and the opportunity is there. The market punishes the desperate and the ignorant.

Oh definitely. I'm going to build my set slowly over the course of the next few months, probably. Wife doesn't look at my personal credit card bill but will notice a credit card bill coming out of the bank that was several hundred dollars more than expected. She would also get suspicious if I suddenly had another huge 20 pound box on the doorstep about a month from now. My birthday is coming up next month though, maybe will get some cash thrown my way by some family and friends. Hmm...

Hello and welcome from a fellow member from N.J.
Thanks! Grew up right next door in Cranford, actually.

Welcome!! Careful with the fracs they can become quite addicting! :ROFLMAO:
Good luck with your search!!!
Happy chipping, Brie

Welcome from a fellow jersey guy just south of you in Woodbridge.

One idea for fracs is to use starbursts - they come in a bunch of colors, you just have to be patient in finding a full rack of them, or a little forgiving with some slight color variation (depending on the color)

One 1800-strong custom CPC set (consisting of cash and tourney sub-sets), one 900-strong Paulson Pharaoh tourney set, one mixed Paulson 660-strong cash set, one round poker table with Chanman custom felt, dealer and blinds buttons, some sample sets (including the famous Black Cat Club) and singles, some good card decks, some good Pelican-type cases. I even custom-labelled my old dice chips, for rural travel use:LOL:

Some notable members here must have way more than $100K invested in chips...

Those are beautiful! Great idea for fracs as you mentioned. I've seen them on Apache but they're over $1 a chip. I really like those bright oranges and basically every blue for my future set if I get a 1/5/25 white/red/green set.

People have them and will sell them. They just aren’t readily offered. I put up a wanted post and got at least 4 offers.

They are definitely expensive and in high demand right now.

Welcome, newbie here too. Hopefully you find what you are looking for, maybe we will be the veteran chippers one day with other new folk looking to take our used poker wares off our hands!

As promised, some Majestic CC pRon:

Hello and welcome.
There are some non expensive paulsons (casino used) on the market right now. Liker Horseshoes, Roadhouse and Jacks, however to stay in a budget for the fracs you might need to consider relabeling chips.

@JMC9389 speaking of bright orange, I just got these...View attachment 319585

That's not bright, but you get the point! LOL!
@shorticus where on earth did you find that amazing rack of quarters??? LMAO!! Btw they are quite bright if you wash and oil them buddy... They have some glow to them, there are brighter but for the price those are probably the best hot stamp fracs available in quantity right now! @JMC9389 welcome friend! Only advice I have if you get the itch is to set a budget and find a way to stick to it! Even if that means having your woman change your PayPal password and not telling you what it is! Lol the sickness is real!! Fellow chipper Ben
