Hey All..I am new to the forum and signed up to check out some of the chips that are out there. Have the good ol' dice chips and am ready to give those off to the kid. Just trying to gather some info about the chips that are out there. fI noticed quite a bit of talk about the Majestic chips. They fit the price point and look nice enough for the girls I go out with. Going with smaller denominations for a monthly cash game. Other interest is some of the cheaper ceramics such as Laurel Crown, but lack the denominations I want.

Anybody selling their majestics by chance?

Anyhow, looking forward to seeing what all you have out there.

Welcome. I just joined as well and am in the same boat upgrading from dice chips.

I have a sample set of Majestics and love them. While they aren't real casino Paulsons they are worlds better than any of the slugged chips and are very reasonably priced. If it weren't for the Pharaohs I would definitely be ordering a set but I prefer the colors and edge spots of the Pharaohs a bit more. Both are sold by Apache and they have been great to deal with so far. I haven't seen any used sets of Majestics for sale but at their price point I doubt you would get much of a discount over ordering new.

If you're on the fence I would highly recommend to order some samples. I was also considering a few ceramics but didn't like them nearly as much as the China clays when I had them in hand. YMMV.

Good luck!

Welcome Guys! Good place to find higher quality chips. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to both of you. You'll find loads of good stuff in here, but be warned to leave your wallet at the door.

And remember the best advice floating around: always get samples!

Well, such a quick study by the new guy...

1- Look into CC
2- Visit a site sponsor
3- Get samples

Boom! From kindergarden to highschool in 14 posts! :)

Nicely done. Solid advice.

Welcome to PCF, the exciting place where you'll get the best chips :)

600 chips would be ideal. 500 would suffice. 8 person game. .25/.50NL game or we play dealers choice with $5 max bet.

.25 x 200
$1 x 200
$5 x 160
$10 x 20
$20 x 20
the 500 chip option would be.

.25 x 150
$1 x 150
$5 x 150
$10 x 25
$20 x 25

.25, $1, $5, $10, $20

The $10 and $20 make it tough - many ceramic chip lines include one or the other, but finding both in the same line is like finding a unicorn. The $10 can simply be supplanted by two $5's, which is what most people will do/recommend here. The $20 is more convenient to have a single chip.

You might try the Valentino line which has a $20 chip offered at Old West Poker Supply. $.63/chip using the PCF discount. Check them out here...

...but if you decide to order from them, be sure to email them your order w/your PCF user name included to get the discount.

Yes Sal at OWPS is the greatest but if you are looking at those also take a look at the rounders chips as well. No $20 chips but use $25's
