@CB561
Great selection on the
CPC chips. Your situation is very similar to mine about 4.5 months ago.
I joined, unbeknownst to me, 4 days after the Chip Room sale for Jack chips. No big deal at the time. I saw the thread, loved the chips but didn't see the financial pain I would have to endure to get them. (Pr0n is coming) I still don't have all that I want, but about 80% of it. I can felt a STT with my Jack chips. I ended up being treated to a game featuring Jacks.
@grantc54 , it's all your fault!
But...you warned me to not play as they are addictive, so you are absolved of any wrong doing
Playing in that game started a fire in my heart to get Jack chips as a tournament set and I cant seem to put this fire out...I am still actively growing the set. Ridiculous!
My first move was to sample chips. I got huge help from
@T_Chan who allowed me to sit with him and his collection and touch and feel many amazing chips. Boat chips. Pharaoh's. CPCs. Some ceramics. There is more but I got a feel for what I wanted. I've been playing poker long enough, so it was easy to determine that for myself.
I SELECTED
CPC. I didn't settle. You maybe don't know what you got there quite yet. Mint CPCs. Amazing chips. They will age like fine wine.
For sampling,
@T_Chan let me bring a barrel home. Yep...the man is gracious and talented. I played with them for 2 days and then emailed David Spragg. Bought a 700ct "stock designs" Rounders set. It was an easy "no-brainer" decision to pay $1.75/chip. As I am anticipating August 15th, my first home game featuring a full table of 9, my CPCs will get to start it off. I'm so excited to felt them.
I got many other chips after I joined. I even said I can't afford them. I bought them nonetheless. You are going the same way as me. You will buy Paulson's...I'm sure of it...
Don't forget to love the
CPC chips. Use them. They need to be broken in and they get even better with use and time. Give them love and mineral oil. You will fall in love.
All the best man! Have fun! Find what you love
sampling is awesome!
