Just joining from NC. Been playing cards off and on recreationally most of my adult life, starting in my Marine Corps days. I received a set of clay chips as a law school graduation gift almost 20 years ago, and the entire set (500 chips) went missing about 4 years ago. I can't imagine they were stolen, as they all had my initials hot stamped into them. They are undeniably gone, however. I have searched the home and all locations they could possibly be, and offered handsome rewards for their return. All my efforts were fruitless.....

The fine folks at classicpokerchips.com were able to recreate my set for me about a year ago when I finished the basement out, and I couldn't be happier. In fact, I just ordered some additional chips from them today.

Anyway, thanks for the add.

Hello and welcome. I was in NC a few years ago. Stayed in a place called Cherokee. First time I ever experienced a dry town. Didn’t even know there was such a thing. I nearly went mental ha!!

Pics of your chips or it didn’t happen! :p

Welcome aboard!!

Here are three from the original set (no need to tell me that they need a cleaning and/or oiling. I was not aware until I started reading the forum that they could be and needed to be cleaned and oiled), and a few of the newer chips. I kept a few at my desk to play with over the years, and these are a few of the last remaining members of that original set. Classicpokerchips.com recreated the set for me, and I added a white chip to the mix when I ordered the new set. I've been carrying around only the two reds and a white, so that is all I have for the photo of the replacement set. also have replacement green and purple at the house. They are nothing fancy, but they mean a lot to me.

There are still a few "dry counties" in NC. Very few.

And there still exists a handsome financial reward (along with my undying gratitude) to anyone that happens upon my original chips and returns them to me.
