Hi everyone, glad to join the group. My interest started as as a kid with Saturday night family poker games at our cottage. Back then it was all draw and stud games so now I'm learning Texas Holdem. We had some solid, old-school clay chips with bicycle design on blues and whites and a triangle on the reds. Great solid feel and distinctive sound hitting the table. Everything else I used since seemed second rate, so here I am! I started with a vintage set of Lindberg-esque plane logo clay chips. Then I played with some Paulson's at a home game and found what I had been missing. Loved the "Private Card Room" logo and the feel of the chips, so I will probably start there. Look forward to sharing perspectives! --Homer

Welcome, enjoy checking out the galleries and classified ads. It’ll give you a flavour of the wide breadth of chips you can get though the PCF community. Great group of people on here. Have fun.

Thanks for the welcome! I just looked at the page listing the largest chipsets per Casino. 13,000 for a single Casino! Wow, there are some big collections out there. I'd better get going! BTW, are there any physical locations where chip collections are displayed for people to see them?

Thanks for the welcome! Do the PCR ever come up for sale in full sets or full racks?
As a matter of fact they do, I know last week a rack of 5s was available, as far as sets, that's when the work begins finding pictures and old posts and hunting down what you are looking for, if you ask nicely and respectfully you never know who just may be willing to help you out! I find the majority of the community is extremely generous and will go out of their way to help fellow chippers, at least that has been my experience. If you ask about a set of chips and the person doesn't respond... Time to move on, of course you post a wanted ad and you never know might be thinking of selling theirs and will contact you! I don't think it is impossible to find PCR chips they just aren't very common and many here are fans of hot stamps. Also if you need any additional advice several of the members with more experience are willing to help if you ask them, or make a thread and ask, PCF has been a fantastic experience thus far for @FordPickup92 and i. I hope you find everything you're looking for! Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole!!

I don't think there are any galleries but as you get established in the community watch for local mini meet ups in your area, we are having one here in Maryland this weekend, we are even having a bring what you want to sell or trade swap type of thing which wasn't planned, but spending time around others with your same passion even finding people that own chips you like and asking if you could join a game. The possibilities are there, those are decisions you make on how involved you want to be! First off is getting those restrictions off so you can post freely, any questions you have post them without fear or scrutiny or ridicule, there are a few bad apples that don't like noobs but for the most part people are here to help!

Welcome to pcf! Lots of good friends to be had here and many chips as well as great advice!

Thanks for the insights. I'll look for meet-ups. Pictures are great, but no comparison to look and feel in person!

Great insights for the hunt. Thanks. Sounds like "Alice" would have been an appropriate member name too!
