Just started a new oval with another member. 10 seater with 3 on each side and 2 on each end. Plan is for red Monaco speed cloth with a betting line, in-rail drink holders, continuous tucked LED illumination with dimmer, and USB ports. Pics as available. Also tossed up our two octagons that he and I put together this last summer/fall.

Stay well.

Looking good.
Now just need to find better chips :)
Oh yeah… Those dice chips are in the archives. Lol. I was like “how Don they know what chips we’re playing with?”

It ain’t much but we’re using denominated Monte Carlo chips for cash, will build a tourney set of the same (we’ll only do a monthly tourney so no huge hurry) and then start soliciting thoughts on a major purchase before the end of the year. Bang for Buck without going to far overboard.

While I’m wired this way, I’m going to everything in my power to not have 5000 to 10000 higher end chips in the room and on display if I can avoid it.

We have the wishbone folding legs set at the arc and attached to a piece of 3/4” plywood, the remains of the 4x8’ sheet we cut the 6” rail and rail lip out of. That leg piece is screwed/glued to the 3/4” piece of plywood which we cut to create the playing surface.

You can stand on this thing.

“If one person can move your poker table it isn’t very sturdy.” seems to be the mantra at my place.

Doc cut the drink holder holes today while some of us had less important things to do like work. We have some rain moving in for a few days and I wanted them cut in the driveway. All the hardware; Red Monaco betting lined speed cloth, vinyl, table pad, rail foam, and jumbo brass drink holders are en route from Casino Supply. One more minor adjustment then the table heads to the card room for final assembly.

Last night and tonight were big nights for Old Red. Tomorrow night we wire the continuous LED and the 10 USB’s, cut the spacers for the rail, wrap, and install the rail. Then done.

This is already amazing .. can't wait to see the progress and the final build...

We broke in the new table Thursday night (Monaco Red) after it was finished and brought down to the card room with the build team playing a four-handed cash game for an hour or so to be ready for our weekly Friday and Saturday cash games. She’s fitted with a continuous LED light strip in the recess we placed in the rail, USB ports at every one-way jumbo brass cupholder, speed cloth with betting line, and a six inch wide well-padded rail.

It. Is. Sick.

Special thanks to @scoobydoobs who was the technical force behind the build and main reason I brought my home game out of retirement a few months ago. Also huge thanks to Spills and Razzmo (two non-forum regulars) for all the hard work. These two kids have the handy gene and love the game.

We leaned a ton from this (our third table build in 3 months) and since I sold off one of my two home-built octagons (thanks again @scoobydoobs for the help on those two builds this past fall) I am assembling the start-up funds for what will be oval number two; Monaco Green. Same table different cloth and maybe an extra extra like a cash drawer underneath and one of a couple of other innovative add-ons we dreamed up. No spoilers. You’ll have to wait and see.

Opening night was especially good to the host as I’ve been running around Even Steven. Took care of that. The green octagon and 9 chairs pictured below is now in the possession of, get this, a board game enthusiast. No worries though, he and his wife were pumped.

Now to get the dogs settled on the 3 hours of sleep I squeezed in, eat, hydrate, grab a nap, clear the card room and do a chip count, and basically just get ready for tonight’s session.

I’m very lucky to be able to spread a consistently attended session every Friday and Saturday night. Since we went to straight up cash games (we’re planning to do a monthly deep stack/higher buy-in tourney) having a match twice weekly is easy peasy since no number of players is really too many or too few. We’re also planning a monthly “high stakes” cash game to reward the regulars and worker bees for their efforts.

Run well Poker Chip Forum and we’ll keep surfing, stalking, and posting.

Not perfect but never let perfect get in the way of pretty damn good. The vinyl was like cutting a pizza into 10 pieces instead of 8 because you’re hungrier. Black magic. Thank @scoobydoobs fkr that trick.

Thank you. We’re very proud of it.

We have lift off.

10 USB’s installed. Charge your phones and your vapes and swipe and puff until it’s your turn to act. @scoobydoobs was the visionary behind deciding to power the table with an LED and the USB’s. We ready.
