New to PCF and Chipping! (1 Viewer)

Hello All,

I am new to PCF and have just begun my first "nice" chip set. I just made my first purchase of 50 Aztar Indiana quarters last night and managed to score them on eBay for $38.95! I have been in love with paulson chips the first time I laid hands on them in a casino. I've recently been playing much more poker and want to put together my first cash game set of Paulsons. This site already has been a great resource and from what I can tell the folks here are very friendly! Hope to get to know the community and become a part myself. Cheers from Murfreesboro, TN!

Here is a pic of the chips I bought last night (eBay image). Maybe I bought these from one of you? They're coming from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Welcome! You will love those chips and likely want a playable set. Aztar chips are more available than many other vintage casino chips. If your goal is a playable set, it can be done for a reasonable cost.

Not cheap, but nothing like the prices for some of the rarer sets.

Thanks! I'm sure I will put them to good use. I have held off on purchasing the Aztar 5's because I'm wanting chips with a different side design. I'm new to all this and I'm sure there are terms for what I'm saying but basically I just don't like the design enough to pull the trigger on them even though there are some great deals on eBay for them right now (less than $1/chip). I am trying to be patient and find the right deal for what I want. My cash games will primarily consist of nickels being a $1/2 game so I want to be more picky with them for now. That was too good of a deal so I snatched them up!

I saw the same auction that you bought! Haha when I saw them for $38.95 I went and double checked that they were different than the $54.95. Either way I think we both got great deals. Hope you enjoy yours!

Welcome. Be sure and go look through the galleries. You will find many nice photos of chips you will put on your want list. I started with Grand Victoria's and loved them until my love for old Vegas chips took hold and ruined me for life but I love it!

Definitely some great Aztar pr0n on this thread. I really love the $1 Aztar chips, I haven't really seen any of them for sale. The dealer buttons are awesome as well! I have been searching almost 24/7 the last couple days lol I think I've viewed every Paulson chip for sale on the internet. Thanks everyone for sharing!
