Hi,

I am a new member to FCF that has been totally impressed with the members’ knowledge and helpfulness on the site.

I chose the user name because when I first started playing poker I played one eyed jacks are wild and I can be a stubborn jack*** when I should fold with a low pair.

Currently I am playing with some Desert Palace hot stamped dice chips from Spinetti’s that I like. I am looking to take my poker chips to the next level and have enjoyed looking at all the creative ideas. Right now I am thinking the custom Tina chips route with the 50th anniversary Sahara theme will be the coolest and more affordable for me. I also have been reading threads about Gear label projects with Paulsons, CPC and Spinetti’s custom options as well. Would like to hear any advice you have for me.

I like to watch the movies of guys in old Vegas in the leisure wear like Mo Green in Godfather II I think. It has been a while since I have seen it tho. Let me know if you have any poker movie recommendations. Looking forward to being in this group and getting a new set of Sahara themed chips.

Welcome!

I charted my initial CPC plan here, which turned into a RHC relabel adventure that’ll hopefully be wrapping up soon(ish). If going CPC, make sure you take your time, I’m glad I didn’t rush into CPC when I initially came here. My ‘tastes’ and preferences changed with education and seeing so many other sets. If going with a relabel, ‘overlabel’ would be much faster and less hassle:

The Tangiers Tina Hybrid is charted here - should be available to buy in a month or two, this one likely has the most design effort put in that I’ve seen on a Tina, so if you like Old Vegas style, this is your huckleberry:

Whatever path you end up going down, general advice is get samples first. Then I think it comes down to budget/ time (wait if CPC or your available time if relabel).

Of all the above, the Tina Hybrids are a decent gateway drug that are economical and can get you a couple of steps up from dice chips.

GL!

Welcome to PCF. What is the Sahara 50th Anniversary theme you mentioned?
Hey there- well went back to research and it was 60 years 1952 -2011 hotstamped on a green chip which I think was the years of operations (I should have done the math but was at first 50 year anniversary). Now I can only find it on the Apache Poker Sahara plaques. I am thinking a theme combo of the 1983 and 1971 chip versions are my favorite with the woman with upside down heart big hair and then personalize it for my situation with the 1971 detail font replaced for Del Webb’s.

Sounds like a nice label idea. The "upside-down heart" would be this:

Thanks that is some great signage. I just drove by it in January and it is eye-catching.

Thank you kindly!

Appreciate it. Happy to be here.

Hello and welcome!
Thanks so much!

Welcome. Tina hybrids are great value and a good place to start.

Not a poker specific movie, but @Cratty
Has a set, Tangiers, coming along that is a tribute to the movie Casino.
Thanks Steve- I am going to need to check that out very soon!
