I just found out about this forum last night. Needless to say I only had a few hours of sleep.

I want to get 500 pcs set of chips < $200.
What would be the best quality chips I can get for that price? I don’t mind a preowned set to get the best quality.

I’m in Ocala fl. Is anyone from around here?

Just my 2c but I don't think China Clay chips are a good buy. I would go cheaper with dice type stuff or more expensive and get ceramic hybrids.

Welcome aboard, I'm in Odessa, on the north border of Tampa.

Apache has some decent chips within your price range. I disagree over skipping china clays in favor of dice chips though, they're definitely a step up in feel and appearance and will be far more enjoyable than dice chips.

You can always try to find a deal for nicer chips in the classifieds here or on eBay, but I think with only a $200 budget you'd need to possibly reduce the total count of chips you're using from 500.

What do you intend to host? Cash or tourney? How many players, etc? Will help us give better advice.

I had the dice chips before and I hated it. Very plastic no denominations and no quality control.

I play with a group of friends for fun or when we host a party so nothing too competitive. I bought a nice poker table and wanted to have a nice set of chips to go with it

Welcome! I've looked at that same table because I really want an option to shoot dice, but I was unsure how many players can sit at it while playing cards. Any idea if it fits 8 people?

Yeah we’ve done that a couple of times in a party and it’s comfortable. Does not feel tight at all

Hello and welcome. I would suggest you get some samples of the Milano's, Majestic's and Pharaoh's. You may also want to get a sample set of Scrolls and maybe even some Nevada Jacks, they are both completely different and a little more expensive than the China Clay's but a lot of people like them. Then, if you decide you want a set of one of those place a "Wanted" ad, something tells me some one here would have a nice set for a good price.

That’s a good is idea. I’ve been stalking the classified section. Do you prefer china clay or ceramic?

I honestly like both. I have multiple sets of each of the ones I mentioned and they all see time on my table. But, if I had to choose one or the other it would be China Clay.
