SOLD Nice Nevada chip discovery set (1 Viewer)

The Bonanza Casino was open from the early 1970’s until 2015. The tables were pulled in the 1970’s. These chips were in storage until a couple of years ago, and these, along with about 120 others that were sold as singles represent the entire issue.

A few thoughts:
- Great tie-in with the TV series Bonanza
- The only known playable set from Virginia City, NV, as only a few casinos issued chips.
- the classic small town Nevada city with ties to the com stock load.

The chips are broken down as follows:
- 700 $1 chips (100 new, 600 used)
- 1,280 $5 chips (900 new, 380 used)

I am open to selling the entire set, selling part, etc. PM me with your thoughts If you are interested. As you would expect, price is negotiable, and contingent upon the context of the deal.

I agree but it is a huge set with a limited (see what I did there?) buyer pool so I suspect it will at least be halved.

How do old casino sets get discovered? Are you people just out there, digging holes in the desert??

A friend of mine picked these up a few years ago. It takes years of tenacity and digging to turn things up. Sometimes things come in batches, and sometimes in small quantities. These came from someone associated with the casino.

Ok, a few of you have asked about pricing, and here is where I stand. I know that this is on the higher side of things, but these are very limited quantities, and a killer chip with lots of history.

New - $400 / 100
Used - $300 / 100

I have already turned down $300 / 100 for most the racks of new chips. Domestic shipping / insurance is included. For foreign orders we will have to sort things out. I am hanging on to about 60-70 chips for myself. Beyond that, this is all that was made. If you take them all, I can work on price a little. However, I had to really step up for these, so I can't blow them out.

This set could be broken up and raffled as 3 or 4 cash sets. The other possibility to hold a "blind" auction similar to the Native Light Secondary chips.
