Curious on the bearclaw $100 Capitol -Why are there two designs for hundos and this one valued so much higher - I have a partial sample set not including the 25c frac and also the non IHC $500 - Is the other Hundo and the THC purple $500 a fantasy chip homage and the bearclaw and IHC designs the official sample set chips?

I don’t know why Paulson did two issues for this series, and I think that the real answer is lost to history. The value difference comes down to looks, relative rarity, and demand. The bright tiger claw is just a better looking chip.

@Accrualgame there are several reasons why:

1) the bear claw spot pattern is highly desired
2) the inlay is shaped (the other inlay is round)
3) this chip is much much more rare
4) this chip is the real card room casino chip

The Capitol City chips with the shaped inlays were those actually made for the casino and then it closed (I think before it ever opened). The original casino chips include the yellow $1, beautiful orange 4V418 $5 chip, light blue $20 and this bear claw hundo.

The other version with the round inlays were then made by Paulson afterwards as a fantasy chip and sold in their store and have the same colors as other fantasy lines like Casino de Isthmus. This includes the blue $1, red 4D18 $5, the other black hundo with the round inlay, and the purple $500 with round inlay.
