How much foam should I leave on either side of the rail? These are both 3/4 thick plywood.

I found a resource that said 1" and 2". I think it turned out pretty good

I used 1" on the inside overhang and because I did a 3/4" raised rail, I used 3" on the outside to wrap the (3) pieces of 3/4" plywood. If you aren't doing a raised rail, then I would think that 2" would work fine.

No i was just excited last night to see how it looked on the table. What you're seeing is the foam padding. I'm going to install the cloth tonight
