Noob. Just getting into Chips and Slot Machines. (1 Viewer)

LOL I bet it's all bad. We're gamblers so addictive personalities. What led me here was not just the poker chips, but a post Tommy the moderator made about a Wheel of Fortune machine. I don't have enough posts to DM him yet. He shows some pics that are the exact same pics a slot machine company made and I'm sure it's a scam site, but want to verify. Hard to believe that a post from 2017 shows pics of a machine that hasn't sold or moved locations.

LOL. My first good set was "The Mint", but then sold them about a year or so ago. Now I'm playing more poker than ever in card rooms and wanted chips to play with so just ordered another custom order of "The Mint". I really want casino grade chips, I know that's a very loaded question, and the Mint seem to be pretty good chips. Now I'm going to order custom chips as I have a dedicated movie theater in my house and want to host games. So I'm taking the theater name and expanding that to chips.

So any suggestions you have for chips type and where to buy custom ones. I know they are all over the web, but suggestions from people who know the quality would be helpful. I want top quality as far as the chip itself, heavy, I'm guessing clay?

Heavy is subjective. For custom clay it's either CPC or buying up some existing casino used Paulson's and removing/milling out the inlays and adding custom labels.

Dig through some of the custom chip threads and you'll see some examples.

Welcome @DueceOfMoose ... by "The Mint" I am guessing you are in refrence to the Canyon Bluff slugged plastic series. I hope you get a good batch, the last few years I feel their QC has gone down hill leaving nasty "rolled/barbed edges" on the chips... it could easily be fixed with sand paper but going to take a while. Of course that was about 3 years ago and haven't persoseen any new chips out of them in a while now.

As far as customs... you have several options. You can go Ceramic and get in on a Cards Mold group buy coming from China with your design (much better than placing a single order alone, you get nice price cuts for more chips and shipping can be brutal!) Also they throw copyrights to the wind and will make prettyuch whatever you want. Here is a "tribute" set of cards molds we own

You can also order ceramics right here in the states from @BR Pro Poker or @Nick@TPS . These are considered semi custom from BrPro... fantastic chips

If you like the idea of Ceramics but really want an actual inlay you can go @SUN-FLY Poker Chips which produce what we call a "hybrid ceramic" in both 39mm or even larger 43mm. This set is a Hybrid ceramic 43mm also semi custom

From there we set into real custom clay Poker chips. Only one company left on the market making them, pretty costly... and definitely high end for home Poker chips... but the quality is amazing. They offer several different molds and even two different sizes. We own a couple sets of CPCs on different molds

It is highly recommended to get samples of both colors and molds before jumping in on one of these sets. There are 1000 threads about people's custom CPc journeys here on the forum. Take your time, do your research and never fear reaching out for help from forum members here. These are experienced chip owners that have been at it for years... I mean after all why have a forum if we can't discuss Poker chips!

Careful with this website... handle with caution! This is where the custom clay journey begins!

Again welcome and enjoy your chipping journey! Always around if you have any questions.

Looks like Ben gave you the run down on custom chips. The other option available here is retired Casino or even "live" Casino chips to use in your home game. These can be bought here in the classifieds or as its happened in the last few years one member acquires and has listed large quantities of recently retired Casino chips for sale to the public. These are often shotgun sales that clear fast but then the same chips are circulated by this same online market and a few retailers. Horse Shoe Indiana, Majestic Star and Indiana Grand being recent examples.

Also for accessories there are group buys for dealer buttons etc... that are held from time to time with a current group buy going on for some dealer buttons and accessory tokens of various designs. Custom options are also available for pretty much everything from Plaques to chips to seating tokens.

Example of some casino chips and options for dealer buttons the FS and falcon and bubba fett buttons are in the current group buy

WOW thanks. Those are some great looking chips Ben. Now you mean be careful by it's a addictive or stay away from that site?

Phil, thanks for the info. Will look at it. I have a machine shop so I was contemplating making my own dealer button, hold, missed blinds, etc... buttons once I have a design. I have not done any research yet, I'm just starting out. I did pay someone yesterday on Fiverr to design my logo for my fake casino. I've done graphic design, professionally, my whole life, but kinda tapped out at the moment so we'll see what they come up with.

I'm pretty much retired. a couple month left dissolving my business, and I'm back to making custom shirts. So that might be something I can offer the group. I do DTF shirts which, in my opinion, are the best. Not for high volume mind you, but full color (meaning can easily print a photograph and have it look exactly the same as a picture) and a soft hand and totally personalized. So if someone here wanted their logo or fake casino on a shirt with Gus on the front, sort of thing, that would be easy.

Oh these are the Mint chips I was talking about and where I ordered them from. Are these the ones you're talking about?

Is that $4.99/chip or roll of 25chips?

If per chip STOP your paying Wòay! To Much!
Custom chips cost approx
Cards mold Chinese are approx .35-.50/chip
Domestic Ceramics
.60-1/chip
Casino
.50-lotz/chip
CPC
.70-4/chip
Approximately

LOL You're both correct. It's expensive as all get out, but when travelling no matter where in the world you get off easy. Even going somewhere as close as Los Angeles, a place I used to live, even that is cheaper by a large margin than SF.

Looks like I might be picking up some slot machines today LOL. I was going to order from places online, but all seem a tad shady. Lots have problems with charge backs and such and only do Zelle or ACH/Wire. So no way I'm buying something without the buyer protection of my CC. Found pretty much exactly what I was looking for locally, well one is 45 minutes away and one is 1 1/2 hours, but still not bad.

Hey all from SF, CA. Poker Player and just getting into Slot Machines and Poker Chips.
Welcome, what kind of slots do you like to play? I like to play 3 reel slots like Top Dollar, old school 1-liner slots.

Just meant it is addictive! Carefulnwith the CPC machine... much like Dumbledore's magical mirror... many have wasted away logged into that beautiful site! Lol

Those are the Mint chips that we got samples of a couple years ago. When you get them and if you wouldn't mind.. could you post a picture close up of the edge if the chips. I mean obviously if you say they are smooth then cool. Just curious if they fixed that mess they were sending out to people.

As far as shirts. Just FYI to sell commercially here you have to buy a vendor tag. If that is something you would like to do then hit up @Tommy and he can get you all set up sir!

I don't really play slots, but I love machines and since I'm having more time to play poker and want to host games at my house seems like a perfect fit; for fun and ambiance.

Right now I'm going to pickup a Williams Bluebird 2 Goldfish and the other one I'll probably pickup tomorrow is a IGT S2000 Hot Peppers that takes bills, has a TITO and quarters in and out. I want friends at home to play and get the quarters. Seems funner than a ticket.

For the bluebird the guy says it came with the ticket part, but never figured out how to get them working. He has a bunch of machines. Mainly S2000. I'll do my research so I can have my fake casino name and logo on the tickets.

LOL I bet.

I'll definitely do that. If they have rough edges I'll return them. I've had those chips before so I know what quality to expect. I picked the mint due to weight, quality, material and design. As I'm sure all of you are, design is important.

Ok good to know on the vendor tag.
