So I was browsing craigslist and I came across this table:

https://fortsmith.craigslist.org/for/6002420126.html

I also saw another one from a Choctaw casino on craigslist before.

Both had no bumper, and there is no room for a rack, so I assume they were just used for tournaments.

How are people going about obtaining these things?

I wish I had an answer. Because I've asked a similar question before too.

I even am good friends with a guy who works in finances and taxes for all the Atlantic City casinos and I've asked about getting a table from any of the places that have closed. He's said there's nothing that can be done. Either they're shipped off to other buildings and refurbished or they're still sitting in the buildings waiting to either be sent away or for the building to reopen

You guys are aware you can buy casino felts on eBay every so often. Then you can build a table for them.

Casino equipment gets liquidated like everything else. Just need to find a liquidator.

I have one from a HardRock

Well, what exactly are you wanting? If you'd like a genuine felt to put on your own table it's not impossible if you have the right contacts and good timing, but only for a casino that has closed or rebranded in some way. Production stuff is not going to be sold unless it's stolen property. Misprints will be sent back to the printer or destroyed.

Jim from the Chip Room sometimes gets a felt or two when he goes in and buys up all the chips after a rebrand or closure, but most of those are table games. And as @RowdyRawhide noted they show up on eBay from time to time. They come as one solid piece of cloth; the installer has to cut any necessary holes for chip trays and other equipment.

The problem is table felts are generally replaced on a set schedule. If a casino knows they are rebranding in six months they're not going to order eight months of extra felts with the old name. So a lot of times Jim will go in to buy the chips and there's simply no felts to be had. And if they're going to be closing soon (but don't know it yet), chances are they're already pinching pennies by deferring maintenance. Same reason why new, in box primary chips are very rare.

On the other hand if you're wanting a physical table as others have noted those are assets to be reused at other properties or liquidated. There's really nothing special about the table itself.

Knowing how other companies close I completely agree. I have seen a number of custom fabrication shops close and the employees want to purchase some of the tools or other equipment. However the banks don't allow it. Everything owned by the company goes into the liquidation sale and the banks don't allow anything to get chopped out ahead of that.

Ya, agree with DJ Mack... casino tables are often lower quality and comfort than I experience in home games I play in. My local Ho Chunk casino just switched out to a bunch of newer tables, and they suck ass... small 3"-4" rails that the nimrod builder did not round over the wood, and the edges can be easily felt through the padding...

Pretty sure @Spinettis Gaming always stocks used casino felts. And I wouldn't be shocked to hear they had a table or two. Give them a call.
