Old compression molds (1 Viewer)

Came across an older lady selling their dads old chips. Took a a look a low and behold they were clays with old long retired molds. Mostly hub and dot mold with a few diamond and a couple of really rare x mold. All total just over 440 chips. These look to be chips from the 50’s-60’s. Most are well used the dot mile are actually in great shape.

Those dots are extremely uncommon, and the purple one is in rare good condition for such a chip. That's a great find...congrats!

Did you get them already?

These are a older than 50's - 60's. I'd say more like 30's- 40's - if they are all contemporary, the date seems to be around that. If they were acquired at different times, some could be from the late 20's.

Yeah picked them up today. The story the lady told me is her dad died a few years ago and they were his. he had a monthly poker game with a set of friends since college in the late 50's.

the purple and orange dots are in really good shape for their age and are the 2 of largest count.

144 orange dot, 90 purple dot

will be interesting to see what they sale for.

440 chips total, probably about $100-125 on the open market, assuming reasonable condition despite use.
