I think I can remember members saying the mold makes the chips kind of fragile. Too bad, I like it as well, as far as house molds go it's one of my favorites, especially on that frac.

I was actually a little disappointed that the Rivers Casino near my house went with RHC instead of the house mold.

I can't imagine that's true

A real quick search turned up this post, I can't imagine there's more in other threads ;) :

Btw, this is the first rack I've seen in a while with chips that don't generally suck. Good on them! It also looks like get gave up on their house mold which was fragile as any I've ever handled. Still, that stylized R was kinda nifty.

Peter Nathan from the CCA convention last year showed me some pics of Rivers chips that were either severely flea bitten or just flat broken. He claimed there was something about the mold that made it brittle. *shrug* Many of the pics looked like the chips were broken in a similar manner, almost like a dull blade cut a fairly thinly-sliced chord through them. Don't know if a rack was dropped or why multiple chips were damaged. I was too tilted by the chip carnage to think to ask. I just took it as gospel from a dude who'd been collecting far longer than I had and moved on.

I would suspect that is more of a composition / process issue or outside forces and not the actual design of the mold itself as a cause, but maybe... I don't have any of these chips so obviously can't say anything with certainty.
Maybe @Pokerdweebz can chime in / post something about the feel, etc. after handling them

Maybe, but RHC chips are more susceptible to flea bites and chunks than SCV/LCV so we know mold makes a difference to some degree with the amount of clay on the edge. The Rivers house bold with the R around the edge could definitely be having an impact on edge chips or the integrity of the chip. I can see it, but I also have no clue and just going off more knowledgeable members opinions so who knows...

Are the Catfish Bend Casino 50¢ and the Horseshoe Casino 50¢ matching yellow color? If so I could use them together for a relabel project. Thanks.

@softchewy @12thMan Didn't mean to forget about this. I haven't done in depth testing (maybe someone more knowledgeable at the meetup will do better) but I would say there is something different about them. They feel and sound like slightly more plasticy Paulsons. That is to say they are very nice, but you can tell something is different. They don't feel like they would get damaged from play, but the sound does make them seem like they would be more brittle (whether or not I'm insane or it is enough to make a difference is up for you to decide).
