I am in search of a Paulson sample chip in Desert Flower. I would also buy a Dolphin Blue chip.

Background:

I recently purchased a full color sample set in excellent condition from a PCF member. In my Paulson Color Verification thread, I noted that the Desert Flower and Dolphin Blue chips looked very similar. User BGinGA posted that he thinks one of my two chips may be mis-labeled, because in his opinion these colors are quite different. He posited that the Desert Flower is actually also a Dolphin Blue, with the wrong label.

So I am hoping maybe someone out there has a duplicate of one or both of these colors available for sale, so I can (a) verify whether there is really a duplication/labeling problem and (b) complete my set if so.

Below is the picture I posted in the thread. If others disagree that these are duplicates, please weigh in!

Alternatively, I would be willing to purchase a non-sample chip in one or both of these colors. That would not complete my set, but it would at least let me verify whether these are duplicates.

Caruthersville Casino Aztar roulette is Desert Flower , if you can find one

sorry, didn't read too close, those two colors are very different

I would characterize Dolphin Blue as a light blue color, while Desert Flower has a bit more reddish/purple/lavender hue to it. It's definitely darker, which is more apparent on the rolling edge of the sample chips.

Sorry I sold all my extras a while ago. But here is a picture of my 2 chips if it helps.

Hmm.... Based on this photo, one might posit that my Desert Flower is correctly labeled, not my Dolphin Blue. In your pic, th Dolphin Blue looks significantly greener than either of my chips, which are more of a dusty pale blue.

Here are two more shots of these samples, in different light/with a different background, including an edge shot.

I would describe the color as powder blue. They are nearly identical, more like a batch variation of the same color than two distinct colors. The supposed Desert Flower might be a hair more lilac, but only a hair...

Lucky Derby 3's are Dolphin Blue base, I think and Ace's 2 base, Terrible roulette , Hotstamped speedway dollar, Delta Club dollars, Avalon Club blue spotted is Dolphin base

they look the same to me

I’m increasingly convinced they are the same color. In person, there is a very slight but perceptible difference.

But per above, I assume that is probably because of variation within different batches of the same color.

If your pic above of the Dolphin Blue chip is a good representation, then my Dolphin Blue is likely a misprint and my Desert Flower is correct.

And if you can't find any Dolphin Blue sample chips...I can send you a Lucky Derby $3 chip if that helps.
