I didn't realize that splits go in order of request of the potential buyers. I figured it went by what the seller choices based on convenience.

It's typically just first come first serve - as sellers don't want to wait for the most convenient deal.

And yes, smaller splits are more of a pain in the ass for the seller, so I'm sure if you get a second buyer to take half - then the set will be sold. Likewise, if we can find some one to lock out our smaller splits first, then similarly, the chips will be sold.

Basically, if all chips are spoken for at asking price - why would the seller wait for a different deal?

If this is a "must have" set for you, your best bet is to just buy it all and then sell off what you don't need. It's clear that you'd have at least three buyers looking up your number. (y) :thumbsup:

I think a split is a little more complicated than first come first served. Bradcorn gets the split a lot closer than Joe E's snag in post 5. Heavy lifting should account for something.
