Not sure if this is the right place for the post I'm in the market for my first set and I really love the solid h/s aesthetic, this set fits the bill 90%. My only problem is that I usually run a cash game (5/10), and I have a feeling that as wonderful as these chips are, it would bug the hell out of me that they have "tournament" stamped on them. I'm wondering whether I could just get these and get a bunch of CPC Atlantic Club hotstamped 5s as fracs, or whether I should just customize a full set of solid hotstamps with denoms for my cash game. Anybody have thoughts for a noobie like me?

Welcome to PCF, I would think that these are more fit for a tourney set, especially since they not only say "Tournament" but also "No Cash Value" (that would be annoying in a cash game.....in my opinion)
.
Also, I would strongly suggest against spending ~$2000 on a set "sight-unseen" shipped to Hong Kong (if that is your actual location) for something you're "90%" on.........

Like we always say around here: GET SAMPLES first, then make the leap..... I can see the lure of these chips though, they are pretty f'ing amazing but probably not right for you......

I think custom CPC's would be a better fit for your needs, especial with chip security in mind, I know it's a long shot, but for a larger game like that, you probably want some uniqueness to your chips.......

Just some thoughts, and a free bump for @Lars ;)

Thanks for the advice, that's what I was leaning towards too. As beautiful as these chips are it really would bug me. Chip security is not really an issue as only people I know and within 1 degrees of separation are usually invited to my games and hell, we've been using dice chips  with no issues so far. Either way, we play 5/10 HKD which is about 0.5/1 in USD terms, so by no means are we running a large game :D

I will look into H/S chips with edge spots!

Anyways, @Lars, this is a beautiful set - if it were right for cash I'd have bought it right away. GLWS!

I am interested in some 25,100 and 500 if that helps anyone.

230 green 25
230 black 100
100 lavendar 500
100 orange 1K
40 yellow 5K
Accurate Paulson color names are:
  • Day Green
  • Black
  • Petunia
  • Blaze Orange
  • Canary Yellow
Truth in advertising. (y) Petunia is a much cooler/brighter color than is Lavender. Same for Paulson's Blaze Orange (vs Orange) and Canary Yellow (vs Yellow). And Day Green is absolutely electric.
