I just purchased a Vintage Paulson cane and top hat set that is basically brand new with hot stamp initials. I was hoping to have a label designed and made to make this a pretty cool set. I know I could probably hunt this down but you guys are experts! Please if you know help me out! I have come here many times before and you all are amazing!

Do I have to remove the hot stamp or can I apply a label over?
Do we have anybody on the forum that does the design and/or printing?
Are there labels that have the texture that casinos use?
These do not have the markings on the sides. Is there a way to do that or is that part of the mold?

I am picking them up this week and hope to have photos soon, however they are this style.

Do I have to remove the hot stamp or can I apply a label over?
You'll need to remove the hot stamp using a process called milling — for which you'll need to use a guy called @Josh Kifer.

Do we have anybody on the forum that does the design and/or printing?
For the design, try @mattross1313. And for the printing, @Gear is your man.

Are there labels that have the texture that casinos use?
@Gear offers plenty of different textures for labels, so should be able to find one that suits your needs pretty closely.

These do not have the markings on the sides. Is there a way to do that or is that part of the mold?
If the chips you have are solid colours, then there's no way to add spot patterns, no.

If you refer to the edge spots, the spots are made in the molding process. You purchased solids, which can be pretty cool.

For best results you should.

Yup. :)
I often hand out this link on PCF, I don't know the last time it was updated but it's not too far out of date.

Are you sure I have to take every chip and mill off both sides to put a label over? That will/would be miserable.

The hotstamp process squeezes a bit of clay upwards and creates bumps that will be seen and felt when a thin label is placed over it. It’s not desirable at all.
The only way is to mill down a slight amount so that there is a completely flat surface for the label.

I'd say it honestly depends on the condition and size of the hotstamp, but, as @Colquhoun said, it's generally not going to look and feel great if you just stick a label directly over them.

So based on your website, these can be milled and labels applied for about $2 each? I have about 1300 chips!
Yes, it would be quite miserable. I had to do it for over 3000 chips for my roulette set. But the final product, from an esthetic POV is worth it.

yes this is what I'm going for but for poker.

I milled 400+ chips and applied Gear labels for my HSI fracs. It requires a drill press, the right bit, an home-made jig, and plenty of time and effort to get it right.
Worth it in the end, though.

If you look at the Classifieds, not a bad price really for a 1300 Paulson Chip set...and yours would be fully customized to boot!

At the time of this post, we are the only one stop shop, using a CNC method of milling.
Send us your dirty cancelled hot stamped chips, and they will be returned to you clean, milled and labeled.
Ready to felt right out of the box.

There are less expensive routes.

We have made literally tens of thousands of labels for chips milled by @Josh Kifer
We have the sizing for his milled chips down to the thousandths of an inch... If you get your chips milled by him and your labels from us to apply, they will fit snug as a bug in a rug. Apply all 2600 labels yourself and you are off to the races.

This can be a passion project, that's how it all started for @Gear . Figure out your drill press set up, get some old worn out chips and start practicing.
Once you are satisfied with your skill level and your consistency, send us sample chips. We will measure and make labels to fit your set up. Then of course mill your chosen set and apply all the labels yourself.

You should add up what you have invested in the chips with the expected expense to customize to create a "per chip" cost. You could then determine if it's worth it based on what the going rate for Paulson THC cost per chip is.

True. What if I told you I bought them for $100 total

you could mill/label 600ish in a recommended breakdown and resell the rest. Could end up with a good 1 table personalised set for not much cost at all.

Amazing pickup for $100. Congrats.

Another suggestion if you dont want the work with milling/labeling, you could sell these as is likely for around $1/chip, and then spend the money on a new cheapish casino set that you like.

That's true. I'm torn on a design, do I go with Bogey Barn, because it's in my barn with my golf simulator, go with something Ohio State related, or a classic "homage" design?
