Costco has a rolling toolbox right now on sale thru 3/23/25 for $340, but even at the regular price of $370, I feel like it’s a pretty good deal that might be a good storage solution for some of you with largish collections. I picked up two of them, one for chips and one for tools, and I feel like it’s really over built for both. The weight capacity of the whole cabinet is 1500 pounds, and even pretty fully loaded with chips and cards, I’m barely pushing 1/3 of that capacity. And with the tools, I feel like the functionality of it would be lost if you tried to get to the max weight.

It was packed exceptionally well, and easily survived me taking it down the stairs by myself. It does need minor assembly of the casters, push bar, and extension cord wrap hooks. It's all bolts though, so a good ratchet wrench will make for easy work

Back to the chip storage! I’ll include what I’m currently holding, as well as other possible configurations that might also work. Of note, I have a mix of Apache racks and Justin racks in there now. I’ll try to note if either rack would not fit in a particular configuration when another one would, and I can’t speak to any other rack types.

Capacity
Top Row:

8 racks stacked on edge, front to back x 4 rows (3200 chips)
2 x 5 flat, front to back x 4 rows (4000 chips)
*It might be possible to fit 5 rows wide with 39mm Justin racks, but I haven't tried it. This would also max out the drawer weight @ 10g per chip*

Even at 4000 chips in the bottom two drawers, you’d need VERY leaded chips (> 11.25g) to exceed the weight limit for a drawer. I will say I was a little nervous having both bottom drawers open at the same time, but it didn’t give any real signs of wanting to tip over. I still might add a safety hook to the back so I can attach it to the wall as a safety catch.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the construction and stability. And having easy access to all my chips at once is amazing after needing to keep everything in Nanuk cases or heavy duty totes.

Hopefully some of you will find this helpful. I tried to cover as many details as I could, but if you have any questions, let me know!

Do you really want 217 kilos of chips in there?
Based on the ratings, I'm comfortable with it. The casters are rated for 1500 pounds (680 Kg), and the guides for each drawer are rated for 100 pounds each. The top long drawer and the two bottom drawers maxed out at 50 racks each could bump up against that 100 pound rating, but unless you're running all leaded chips, you should still wind up at least a few pounds short of that threshold. And I'll never even sniff the rating for the casters

Now, admittedly, I've never been a NAGB type of guy. I've got a few racks that hang out in that price range, but most of what I have is in the ballpark of $2-3/chip at most, so my risk might be much lower than others. But even if I was into chips that pricey, I'd be comfortable with the weight. I might consider something like a fire rated safe though for the extra piece of mind
