No thanks to this site my interest in clay chips has intensified and after playing solely with dice and a set of cheap weighted chips for years I received my sample set of Pharaohs and I'm looking to buy. I generally play $0.50/$1 NLHE with 7-10 players and at least a few re-buys. Based on this I was looking for the breakdown below but more chips (figure up to 1,000) may be welcome. If someone has these and have outgrown them or they're just collecting dust in the closet I'd be happy to show them some TLC and work a deal out with you!

UPDATE: I'm hoping to get lucky and find some in v good to excellent condition:
100-200x $0.25's
150-300x $0.50's
150-250x $5's

I understand these are available directly from Apache however I figured I'd try here first.
Thanks for the help!

I respect that you chose a really good user name, reallygoodusername.
Before you buy, check out some of the forums for suggestions on cash set breakdowns.
You may find less quarters will suffice.
Cheers,
Joe

First, even 10 players @ $60 each is only $600; why load up on 60 * $25 = $1500, several times the most money the table will ever see?

Second, I strongly recommend against a cash game using regularly available chips. All you need is one guy buying a roll of $5s to destroy your trust. It's something you should think hard about.

Third, I predict you will want to move to casino chips within 6-12 months anyway; consider just starting with them and save yourself some time in the long run.

Good luck with whatever you ultimately decide, and share pictures please.

@guyfleegman - I looked at some of the chip count threads and agree with you... updated the chip counts requested above.

@FCCDAD - I hear what your saying but I'm not a chipper quite yet and doubt I'll want to dish out $800+ anytime soon for a set so these will work great.

That means I'd like my set to be able to handle the growth in my game (larger blinds and buy-ins). If I never end up using any of the $25's (changed to 40x) I'm ok with it cause they would've cost me $15 max... a risk I'm willing to take.

As for common chips in a cash game, I understand the concern but I only play with people I know well and have played with for years. We played dice chips forever which are probably the most common chip around and we've never had a problem plus if anyone cash's out early we do a count anyway.

Thanks again for the suggestions!

What about these? (Disclaimer: not mine, don't know the seller, don't vouch for it - just trying to help)

I’ve been watching these. I believe this is the third time through the one-month listing at least the second. Might be worth sending him an offer. Then you’d have nickels for a friendly game if you need them. :)

Thanks for passing this along @ni9n3r, very nice of you! Unfortunately based on the chips I already have/am looking for this and the 800ct set I've seen on eBay don't quite make sense. I can hope they'll split but we'll see.

True true now just overloaded with $1s haha

Final bump, tomorrow Apache is back and I'll just purchase the rest new but worth a 4th quarter hail mary.

I’ve sent offers on these before and the seller seems inflexible. But that was a while back.

If I’m not mistaken, you can get 500 Pharaohs from Apache’s eBay store for $250 shipped. Seems like a much better deal.

Yeah 0 flexibility from the 400 chip seller. The 800 set seller is on here and in Canada. His price is above Apaches slightly but I guess with taxes and import fees make it a better deal still.
