The inserts give it away, I like the vendor but its hard to swallow when they market like this imo.

Looks like a preformed main piece and the spots are inserted (snapped?) onto it then it is compressed again. Then the label applied. But not a terrible product, probably feels ok and has numbers on it.

Their prepackaged sets are are decent attempt at tailoring for different stakes, and even a tournament breakdown (that could use a little tweaking, less 25’s and 500’s, and more 1000’s).

Got my samples. Just wanted to see if there have been any advancements in China Clay.

So they're not horrible. But they could be better I'm sure. I've had nicer sets of China Clay.

Quality control isn't terrible but it's not great. China clays that I have gotten from Apache poker seem to have better quality control. The only severely misplaced label on this set was on one of the $5 chips.

They are definitely less slick than most China clays. But there also seems to be some discoloration around the stamping of the mold. On some chips. It remains white to a degree.

They may just need a good cleaning because they definitely had manufacturing dust on them and all I did was wipe some mineral oil on them.

Would I pick these over my CPC set? No. No comparison. But if you can find them cheap they would do the job

Beveled edges are reminiscent of the Championship Series. I kinda think that was a @BGinGA suggestion?

Yeah, I was involved in that chip design decision. Great theory, not so much in practice -- I was not pleased with either looks or feel.

I think the outcome might have been better if the CPS chip material composition hadn't taken such a surprising turn towards plastic (compared to previously manufactured china clay chips). But hey, they don't crumble!

"pure clay"

Another arrow for my dice chip bros to start asking why I would pay over $2/chip when "pure clay" can be had for much cheaper.

They've already thrown these at me and said "Amazon can't lie!"

Thanks for the review. So these are less slick than Apache China clays? Apache china clays look good other than I’ve read that some are slick. Also, do you have any experiences with the Milanos?

Yes I had a large set of milanos. They were not bad at all. Depending on what batch they were from they weren't too bad. To me the majestics were nice but very slippery at times. Dunes were so so on the slipperiness. Never had a complete set of royals but they didn't seem too bad from the sample. And Pharaohs seemed really nice but I only had a sample. These are definitely less slippery
