Everything I could find suggests they are compressed clay chips from the 40’s-?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a yellow that bright from the 1940s.

This seems a little to shiney to be compression molded. Hope I'm wrong tho.

Nice pickup! I have a set. Definitely feels like compression molded clay chips to me. Don't come up very often at all.
