I've decided to play Event 52: $1,500 Dealers Choice (6 handed) this year.

My goal isn't so lofty to make it to the money (though that would obviously be nice). I just want to experience the following:
  • Racing off chips
  • Being moved to a different table
  • Bagging my chips for Day 2
I've been looking at the schedule, and just realized we'll be playing with T5 chips (which means the secondary chipset).

Games we can choose from:
  1. No-Limit Holdem
  2. No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw Lowball
  3. No-Limit Five Card Draw High
  4. Pot-Limit Omaha
  5. Pot-Limit Holdem
  6. Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better
  7. Limit Holdem
  8. Limit Omaha High
  9. Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better
  10. Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball
  11. Limit A-5 Triple Draw Lowball
  12. Seven Card Stud
  13. Seven Card Razz
  14. Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split 8 or Better
  15. Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split Regular
  16. Badugi
  17. Badacy
  18. Baducy
  19. Big-O (I'm assuming Limit, but not sure)
Starting off with 7,500 chips and 25/50 blinds (NL/PL) or 100/200 Limits and the first 3 levels last 2 hours, with subsequent levels being 1 hour.

It's supposed to have a great and fun atmosphere, probably lots of familiar faces in the probably quite limited field. I'm looking forward to this one :).

Sounds like it should be fun. I am now realizing my knowledge of poker games is extremely limited as I've never heard of half those games lol

I'm expecting 10 of these babies in my starting stack:

I've never played Big-O though (5-card Omaha). But the swings are bound to be huge on that one.

you should read some of the 2+2 PLO threads on opening ranges

you could probably add 10% of opening hands in 5 card plo

The Bud Jones set is usually reserved for the low buy-in tournaments (like the Casino Employee or the satellites). I've only seen the Paulsons in the $1,000 and up buy-ins.
