Been playing a lot of .20/.40 PLO online. I consider it a good practice and a good way to get in some volume as I learn the game. Still have a lot to learn and looking for advice, so there are going to be a few posts here of big hands I played.

.20/.40 PLO Online (6max)
2 villains in this hand - 5 handed
V1 same guy running hot from Hand #2 (70%ish VPIP on a heater, showing down mostly winning hands) - sitting on 217.22
V2 same maniac from Hand #2 (60%ish VPIP, on tilt) - sitting on 67.69
Hero on 87.69

UTG V1 limp
CO V2 open 1.8
Hero in SB with :3h::ad::ks::ac:

Hero action?

Call. It's an AA hand, but that's all it really has going. Stacks are deep enough that you're treading into RIO problems if you get too invested. Treat it as a set-mine.

Agreed with all of the above, this was a pretty simple choice IMO.

UTG V1 limp
CO V2 open 1.8

Hero calls

Flop :as::7h::ts: Pot 5.80

plan to c/r one of the maniacs... and you have a blocker to the nut flush... not that you will get any folds later.

Build the pot up. If everyone folds to this board, then you aren't making any more money anyway.

Well...hero doesn't prefer to donk lead with very many hands, especially given the preflop raiser is a bit of a tilty maniac and we can be pretty sure he will cbet this flop. Hero decides on a check/call line, although I think I prefer a check/raise line with our top set and nut flush blocker. C/R will protect our equity and give us some bluffing opportunity when the flush comes in. At the time hero is thinking he can continue with value if no flush comes in, and can potentially bluff a flush with the nut blocker on later streets.

Nooooooooooo! Why just call the flop?

As played, pot the turn. Between the set of aces and the :ks:, this has enough bluffing power and redraw to be worth a bet. Hard for anyone to raise you without that :ks:, and of course any straights will probably fold.

Just poor play, honestly. I've been beat down so often in this game recently that I think I've been playing way to passively.

Checkraise that flop but now, you can pot the turn with near impunity. You have the best boat draw and the dry nut flush blocker.

If you decide to pot here you have to follow up on the river even if you miss your boat. Weaker flushes will call 1 street everytime. You have to make them fear the second bet.
