A buddy and I have come up with PLO Tourney style. Anything we missed?

I think it sounds fun.

Tourney: PLO (high only) unlimited rebuy tourney with a twist

Date: FRI. DEC 18th

TIME: 7 pm

Buy In: 20.00’s, unlimited rebuys.

25/.50 HOPE cash game to follow

Hi,

I Would like to welcome everyone to play in a $20.00 Pot Limit Omaha unlimited rebuy tourney with a twist. The twist is simple. At the end of every blind level the clock will be paused and we will run a double board. In addition to this every player will be given a token with their initial buy in. The token must be played pre-flop, on your action.

I’d do it in the order of action. Example: UTG calls, UTG +1 declares double-board and tosses in his token and then bets. I think that the double-board token has to be declared before calling or raising. It just seems to lose luster if you have to declare before even getting any cards dealt to you.

You can use this token whether you’re the dealer or not. After using said token you will have the option to buy more tokens at 5.00’s per piece. All money will go into the prize pool.

We will be utilizing the standard T100,000k blind structure. The first 5 levels will be 30 minutes long. The remaining will be 20 minutes in length. . The tourney will max out at 18 players.

You will not receive any extra tokens with your rebuys. Additional tokens must be purchased. Please bring extra fives with you. If you don’t use your initial token, but are felted. You can still use this token as long as your purchase a rebuy.

All tokens are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

First off, love the ingenuity! I'm from Cleveland, but have lots of fam in the D so I'm up there often.. would love to try a game like this sometime! I'll keep an eye out!

I'd say the token can be used preflop even if there's substantial action in front. Makes it more fun! And if you're raising and have a good enough hand, you actually want to see more boards since you're a statistical favorite. (Much like how players would prefer to run it twice if a big favorite since there's almost no downside.)

Maybe add a 5th card too for these hands? Could be fun!

Also, I think it could be fun to say the winner of the hand played with the paused clock gets another token.

Overall, I don't think Omaha needs too much spicing up and added variance, especially for a tournament...but man this all sounds fun! :) let me know how it goes!!

I'm closer to Ann Arbor than Detroit. Let me know when your in the area and I will gladly try and throw a game together. Pending where your at in Cleveland it should be about 2.15 hours. Not to bad.

What we have decided to do with the tokens is this. You have to play it pre-flop, when the action is on you. If your in late position there could easily be a pot bet, call, ect... before it gets to you. Before you act you have to play the token.

Should be fun. As of now I have 12 players. Can seat 6 more. I don't think we will be maxing out. Wifey is leaving. I figure its time to party, lol.
