Hello All!

Continuing my auctions of my PNYs. I'm continuing through the denominations and am now at the snappers. Full collection to be sold is in the table at the bottom of the post. This auction is for 1 barrel, but as stated in the rules, the winning buyer has the option to buy up to 7 barrels at the winning bid price (last 5 chips are available at 20% of the per barrel price). Chips are in brand new condition. Any questions just shout them out!

Happy bidding & thanks for looking!

  • STARTING BID: $50
  • Bids must be placed in minimum increments of $1. Any fractionalized bid will be rounded down or discarded entirely at my discretion.
  • The Starting Bid of the auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  • All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  • Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at 7pm Central Thursday October 18th will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time.
  • Edited posts will be voided.
  • Winning bidder will purchase at minimum one lot of the offered denomination. Winning bidder will then have the option to purchase as many lots of that denomination as desired for the winning bid price.
  • Should the winning bidder not want all lots available, the next highest/chronological bidder will be given the opportunity to purchase as many lots remain for the price each bidder offered. This process will continue down the list of bidders until all lots are accounted for or no potential buyers exist.
  • I reserve the right to: i) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; ii) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed; or iii) resolve sales of unconfirmed lots in any manner after the process outlined in points 7/7a are exhausted (allowing 24 hours for responses to any offers)
  • PCF (it's Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  • Shipping Terms: Buyer to pay applicable flat rate box pricing depending on the quantity of chips won, international will be actual cost
  • Payment Terms: Paypal Friends and Family

^^ This is confusing. I don’t see how it could possibly be applied in the frantic closing moments of an auction.

If you want these chips don’t be cute with your bidding and just use whole dollars bids.

The OR (subjective) part of this rule however could get everyone into a sticky situation. Example - if Bidder A bids $200 during the finale minute then Bidder B bids $300.01. Bidder A isn’t sure if Bidder B’s entry will get disqualified or not so they have to bid $301 if they want to ensure they win the chips. If Bidder A doesn’t bid above $300 the seller (not saying this seller, just posing a hypothetical) has the obvious motive to not disqualify Bidder B’s bid solely so they sell the chips for more. The situation could get even stickier if Bidder A knows the seller and Bidder B’s last bet is deemed to be disqualified. Bidder B may think the seller chose (because the rule is round down OR disqualify) to DQ their bid simply because they knew Bidder A. Again not saying the seller here or any seller would do this intentionally, just trying to play devils advocate and make the point that saying definitively whether fractional bids are or are not allowed will avoid any of that junk... In the end it’s obviously up to each seller to do exactly how they please though.

The intent behind it is solely to eliminate any controversy over the bidding. Whole dollars only. I understand everyone’s got stuff going on in the evenings and of bidding is dragging on and folks are trying to beat that 5 minute server clock... I wouldn’t want a bid or a series of bids to all be under contention because someone tried to make their bid as quick as possible and didn’t notice someone snuck an extra penny on their bid, or bid in an increment in such a way that it invalidated their bid. See my auction on the quarters a few days ago for an example. Just want things to be straight forward.

To make it straightforward, simply write “whole dollar bids only”. As the rule is written currently it leaves a lot ambiguity as to what is a valid bid.

@Swift618
Any chance you can let us know what your starting bids are going to be for the rest of the denominations?
I have limited PNY funds, and would like to know where I can spend them. Thanks!

I was going to do secondary 25s, the 20s, and the hundreds tonight running through Friday. And the 500s and thousands the next night running through Saturday.

IMO all of you are making the auction confusing. If you read the guidelines it says to copy and paste the rules to hold an auction style. you can refer to the rules here.

The minimum bid is just that, a minimum bid. If the next bid is $5 then $5.01 would be a valid bid which means the next valid bid would have to be $10.01 to be valid.

Anyway, Good luck with the auction
