These LED strips are all over Amazon. They are real cheap too. I need to do something similar with my storage cabinet. Get job!

Nice, is it battery operated or do you have to plug it into a wall outlet?

Drill a hole the the wall and run the cable between the studs.

Well, I was planning on making a giant display case. Guess there's another feature I have to add. The UV looks great!

How did you connect the strips to each other. There is a 16ft strip on Amazon for like $7, which is great. I'd like to cut the strip into 3 pieces, and put them on each of my shelves (wooden cabinet).

I guess I need an adapter, but what wire did you use to connect them?

Also, if one light blows, does the whole strip go out?

When I get home tonight I'll post pics and links. Very cheap. Very easy.

Hey man great, thanks. Im definitely going to do this too.

Here's the Amazon strip for $7. I guess I need to buy an adapter. Would I be able to splice that connection cable on the end (I dont want to drill a hole in my wooden display cabinet that bid, just a tiny one for the wire).

The lights you linked are just regular led's. Those arent blacklight ones. If you want the chips to glow and show all the hidden security marks you will need the ultraviolet. heres some links. BTW the chips glow way way better than in the picture. The case is a lot darker than in the pictures and the chips "GLOW" way more than in the picture. It's actually quite cool to see in person. The pictures and video don't quite capture them.

power cord- you can find these in bigger lots for cheaper. Once you start adding lights to things youll find a million places to put them.

In the picture below you can see how I made the whole cord and switch to the back of the display case. The led strip lights can be cut every inch. I used 6 segments but I think next time I would use 5 segments per shelf as it was too tight. If something goes out you can replace the section. The whole process involves a lot of soldering. Also as the plug segment goes into one side of the on/off switch I found the cheapest and best looking way to continue the cord on the other side is to use a second plug and just cut off both ends. The plugs have a 4ft. cord and are only about 2 bucks. If you go to the local hardware store not only will you pay at least $3.50 for 4ft. of cord but you wont find something that matches the color or size. Just use 2 power supplies per chip case.
