I use plaques with my Silks set, as that set has no $5s, $20s, and or $100s

Or for sets like pny where the $1000 denom chips are scarce and expensive, much more cost effective to get old west poker supplies do you a bunch at less than $5 a pop.

My custom made bounty chips

My plaques for tournaments. They give the game that little extra something.

I bought 10x 25k plaques for my tournament sets, and the big stacks at the games to try to get enough chips to get them in play. It all depends on the number of players and buy-in's, though, as they take a lot of chips off the table. They work well with the set, though.

If I ever need large denoms for my cash set, I'll get a few $100 plaques (link). But that's not likely anytime soon.

I'm not that into plaques myself for Poker game use .. They've never seemed to really be any part of Poker in the USA, the WSOP, Vegas AtlanCity, etc .. They were historically more associated with high end continental Europe Baccarat type games ...
I'd be okay for using them as a Bounty, Buy-in, Prize marker or somesuch, but I'd much rather have Chips in 20K, 25K or whatever needed denom ..
