Trying to lock in a color setup for my ABC chipco tourney set. I wanted something a little outside the ultra standard, so I started with a gray 100. Then after I ran a pretty standard color run (top) I figured I'd have some fun with a pink 500 and a custom orange 5k since I wasn't a fan of the 312 spot pattern on the GB orange.

Now I'm torn.

There's slight tweaks needed to the artwork, but overall what is everyone's thoughts on the color choices?

The blue is one of my favorites from the set I got - $1 cash. But I’m digging the orange a lot. I also like the yellow $1000. I didn’t know the pink was that nice, but purple $500 for me. Geez, I no help...
Bottom row from Darson’s post.

I agree with everybody! Dangit.

My main concern is clear and concise visibility. With the speed of tournaments o want as little time as possible spent on "how much is that?" and "no no...2 yellow 3 orange". So I was trying to stay away from purple/blue and yellow/orange combos but at the end of the day if the design is right then it shouldn't really matter?

My first instinct was purple 500 and orange 5k one way or the other, but that option is getting no love in the poll. Bottom row from OP is an overwhelming favorite so far!

I'm gonna be no help and suggest that you ditch the pink/purple and do green/grey/blue/yellow/orange. The colours are so clear you're not going to have dirty stacks. And blue sky, yellow sand, green coconut tree, orange sunset and grey just because I like it silver fish scales.

I JUST went into this train of thought as I have been eyeballing the prototype pics!

I don’t know how much of a problem the yellow and orange will be. That yellow pops. Maybe changing the spots on the custom orange will help?

Was thinking this as well but didn't want to complicate your decision, lol.

IMHO I like orange>blue>yellow>pink>purple, so get the 3 best colors in there.

I could really blow it out of the water and use em all... pink25/blue100/purple500/yellow1k/orange5k....

You know...since I really need more options :confused

Green T25, grey T100, pink T500, yellow T1000, orange T5000, and BLUE T25K! ;)

Top row is making a strong comeback in the poll and not having the custom orange would save me some $ to use for bounty chips. This is making me sweat.

So having received my secret sauce order, I would strongly recommend keeping the blue, it's by far my favourite, and if there is one to ditch it's the grey. Not that the grey is bad, just compared to the others it's a bit meh.

Still finalizing the color lineup, but what is everyone's choice for the inner ring? Dark or light?

My main concern is the tournament text getting lost. But I also don't want the chips to be too dark as a whole.

Personally I like the dark mirroring the edgespot. The light looks a bit odd to me - wonder what it would be like if it was white, also mirroring the edgespot?

Darker. Though I would check the color to see if it matches the edge spot, it may just be the lighting but the inner circle appears to be a shade darker than the edge spot.

Actually that's not really something I caught until you two just said it. I think that's largely because of it being the purple chip in particular. As in, I actually hadn't tried to match it to the edgespot but rather I ranged down the color the same percentage across all the chips.

Conversely I did a run where I modified one mockup to lighten the ring in all chips unrelated to the edge colors. Now you have me thinking that that might be the play!

Here are the 2 ranges I was looking at.
