Anyone ever find a nice, rare, mint condition set of Paulson chips on eBay, only to have the seller ship 500 chips loose in a flimsy cardboard box?

it happens..

No way....How many came in still as mint and undamaged?

Going through the chips now, one by one. I think I may have been fortunate, so far everything is fine. o_O

There should be public education programs for how to pack poker chips !

I once had a guy place 700 loose TRK's in a Mediun flate rate box with nearly no padding and little tape. It was an incredible craigslist deal so I didn't complain.

Amazingly I only had one broken chip and minimal damage to others.

Now, I had a DEALER from the chip convention in Vegas do the same with with some old Paulsons and they got the hell beat out of them. Again I got a good deal but come on man, he should have known better.

I once got 100 paulsons shipped to me loose in a small flat rate box. But the sender had only secured the box using that one self adhesive strip. When I took the box out of the mailbox, a chip was half out of the untaped seam.

I ended up with 99 chips. Somewhere out there is a lone, mint paulson. Scared and alone.

You should probably post pics so we can help determine the condition lol ;)

I've had shipping nightmares. From supposedly reputable forum members. Note, shipping chips IN racks, using Saran Wrap, and allowing those racks to float loose inside a box, will not have solid results... Don't recommend Saran Wrap...

What I would recommend is the stretchy packing wrap. Using it stretched over rolls of chips is a fantastic way to keep chips solid. The primary rule in shipping chips is they should be a solid, immobile brick of chips. That aren't allowed to bang into each other, float around, or even slide along each other.

If you've ever received chips from me, you've seen packaging that could withstand a drop from a second story balcony...

Yes, unfortunately. Here is how my TRKs arrived. Mint Deadwoods just loose in a box. Fortunately for me, the seller was AWESOME and made it right. Hopefully yours will too. I know all too well that moment when you just want to choke somebody out. It makes you scratch you head in complete disbelief.

wow. My own worst experience was receiving 350€ worth of Paulsons, purchased new, sold by a poker shop. The seller just put the chips in cheap plastic barrel holders, threw them into a padded envelope, and mailed them with no additional protection. Half of the barrel holders promptly broke in transit. When I opened the package, chip dust just rose into the air... 50% of the chips were write-offs. Thankfully, the seller offered a full refund for the shipping and the damaged goods.

I purchased 200 Paulsons from a seller here that came from France completely loose in a bubble mailer. The moment I saw it I nearly lost it. I then open the bag and fresh chip dust coated my table.

Oh wow. Given how rare they are and how much those Deadwoods mean to you, you must have shit when you saw that.

I think I may have punched a cabinet door I was so pissed. But the seller made it right, and even offered me WAY MORE than the value of the damaged chips.

Oh, and the seller just happens to own the company on the reimbursement check below, which sent me from PISSED to EXCITED beyond belief. :D

Ha. This week I found a padded mailer at my door and when I picked it up, I could hear the chips rattling around loose inside. I was shocked and chagrined, since the only chips I was expecting were from forum members. I put out a white sheet of paper, to catch all the chip dust I could pour out of the envelope, with the chips. Hilariously, all that poured out of the envelope was a pile of clear plastic chip spacers I had ordered from Amazon.
By the way, everybody with a big aluminum case should have spacers. Very cool.
