For sale is a full rack of the popular Motor City quarters! Paulson RHC spotted inlay fracs! They pair great with Grand Vics, Crystal Parks, Olivia's, Tuks, and many others as shown in a recent thread.

Purchased from @noblecountydanny a few months back but I've changed direction with my mixed set (again) and no longer need them.

Excellent condition. All chips will stand on edge. Minimal flea bites.

Asking $215 shipped within CONUS (same as I paid).

Well if they are live, we're all grossly overpaying for them.

I guess I don't follow.

You can't just walk up to the cage, give the cashier $25, and walk out with a rack of these fracs. You have to harvest them from the tables. And the dealers/pit bosses usually watch these like hawks and make you color them up any time you accumulate an appreciable number of them. It takes time - and often lots of it - to amass a rack.

Ok, fair enough. FWIW, I have years of casino experience and I've never heard of such shenanigans. Of course, I've never worked in a place that used Paulson as fracs.

Here's a question... WTF does a casino use a $0.25 for? I mean, I can understand a $0.50 chip.

Usually used at Pai Gow poker tables due to the commission paid on a winning hand.

Oh ok. Pai Gow wasn't an option at the joints I worked. Cool.

Mostly used at the Pai Gow tables.

And there are maybe 20 or 30 chips at each table, they're difficult to amass (plus you're usually losing money while you play), and the dealers get in trouble if they run out.

My best method was to stand next to a pai gow table and offer the players $1 for each quarter chip as they were won, but that only lasts until you get run out of the room by management.

This is interesting info. I didn't realize these were so tough to obtain. Same goes for the other quarters too (i. e. Blue Chip, MGM, Outpost, etc...)? I know Tommy had over 1000 Blue Chip Fracs at one point.

Surely someone must want these then. :D

I have a couple racks of these already, or I'd have snarfed them up. I wouldn't sell mine for this price.

I consider $215 a steal for any Detroit Paulson quarter.

I'm still having a little trouble on the math here.

If the vig is 5% and table minimum is $5, that means the player would get 3 of these for every (Banker) win. If the table minimum is $10, they'd get two.

So, unless they're asking the players to color them up every few hands (which seems unreasonable), there should be plenty of these on each table.

I always was under the impression that the vig was put off until a certain amount was due.

They don't necessarily ask you to color them up, but it's hard to accumulate any.
If you have 3 or 4 in your stack and win a hand, the dealer will typically ask for your quarters for the commission. I try to rathole one or two at a time, but if you make it obvious you're taking them off table dealer/pit boss might ask for them cuz there is usually only +/- 30 in dealers tray.

Yep, this. They're not giving you three quarters every time you win a $5 hand. Only when you don't have any. Once you have some quarters in your stack you toss one to the dealer when you win a hand and they give you a $5 chip.
