Hey Table Builders!

Gonna be building a poker table in the coming weeks, I have seen 2 options for foaming the rail.

1. Leave some foam overhang on each side, so that padding extends on the sides, so that there is padding on top, inside and outside. If you dont stretch evenly, then you get this wavy effect.

2. Just foam the top so that it is flush with the sides.

I might go with option 2, as players only have their arms on the top anyways, and the finish when upholstering the vinyl might look cleaner.

Thoughts and suggestions from the masses are welcome.

Thanks,
Jeff

Let the foam wrap on three edges as already stated it adds more padding and gives the rail a fuller look, also use a router and round the edges over before wrapping. Go to Walmart and get a cheap electric knife to cut the foam.....I think mine cost around ten bucks and totally worth it

Here's a link to my build over on PTF, there are better build threads but I tried document as much as I coukkd

Let the foam over hang about an inch.... listen to Jambine and RowdyRawhid, you will be happy you did.
