I am a local Las Vegas coin and jewelry dealer, and I cam across a $25 Black Nevada-Biltmore casino chip. According to the book I have, it is an R10 with a price of $1500 - $3500. Anyone have any idea what this may be worth? Should I wait for another chip show to come into town? Any other thoughts?

I am not a hardcore collector of singles. Other people with more knowledge can chime in. IMO that chip isn't too exciting. Very basic stamped H mold chip.

Hrm. No clue. Marking so I can see how this turns out. I wouldn't believe it, but that does not mean it's not so.

I have bought plenty or rare and esoteric items. This was in the bottom of a coin bucket from a customer’s great grandmother. The Nevada-Biltmore closed in 1947, so the timing is right.

They don't like us set collectors over there. We drive up their prices. :)

Then sometimes chips get released from a casino and they still try to get face value from them. No, your Evansville Aztar $25 chip you harvested is not worth $25!

That particular price guide is only an okay starting point. Its information is over a decade old, prices have mostly tanked since then except in a few rare circumstances. For casino chips, the Chip Rack is still too high but it is very up to date on Nevada. Outside Nevada, eBay is about the only good price guide available.

The interface is shit. But the average user over there is old and still tries to check their Prodigy account. It works, and the people are super nice. Some good deals can be had too if you are patient.
