I'm not saying this is what's going on here, but I've heard of people selling weird crap online and it's actually just a front for drugs.

I forget where I first heard this; there was somebody selling something random, like comic books, for thousands of dollars, but these specific comics weren't valuable at all. The comic books were actually "codes" for specific types and amounts of drugs.

Personally, I saw some guy selling coins on Etsy not too long ago, like just random pennies and nickels, totally not worth anything, but he was trying to sell them for like $30,000 each. I thought, "this guy either has mental problems or he's selling kilos of cocaine on Etsy."
