Hello together,

we have been playing with standard plastic chips for some time now.

But I would like to have chips that sound nice, look good and are not so expensive. For private Poker Rounds.

I've been looking around a bit, but unfortunately in Europe there is mostly only Paulson.

The best looking chips for me:

Tiki Kings
Paulson Pharao
Majestic
Ascona

I would like to have some cheaper than $0.4 per chip.
gladly also second hand.

Can you recommend some that are cheap and make fun?

At 40c per chip China Clay or possibly used ceramics would be about the only options.

Is the set for tournament or cash game? How many players?

Only Tournament, with 5-10 Players.
0.5$ per chip would also be possible

The first two don't go with the last one.
Then I need a good alternative
Get a bigger budget.

At 40c/chip, you're looking at either plastic chips, china clays (glorified plastics, like Majestic), or used/worn ceramics.

At 60c/chip, you open up the possibilities to new stock design ceramics (like Tiki), and possibly some really used/worn clay chips.

At 80c/chip, add in semi-custom ceramics and hybrids (like Ascona).

Paulson chips (like Pharaoh's) are going to be in the $2+ per chip range. Even casino-used, plan on at least $1/chip.... and you won't find a complete cohesive set at those prices.

Those are ceramic chips. If you like them they would work for a single table tournament. Not the best breakdown for a single table game, but it would work for your needs for the most part.

They're visually pretty good.
But the breakdown is really bad.
If the quality is good, it would be a possibility.

300 Tiki chips cost me 180$ + 72$ shipping.

Plus 19% tax and other fees. That is horrible...

I have a set of custom ceramics that i had made for a carpet store i once owned... look pretty good, kind of a novilty. Take a look if your interested we might be able to work something out. No pressure...lol (y)

Do you have some Pictures?

Are there no EU manufacturers of chips that can get you custom design ceramics at a price close to what you're needing? I know shipping from NA or Asia to EU is horribly expensive, not to mention VAT....

The one that I knew of - MrChip - is no longer in business. Might be others.

gamblerstore.de / personalpokerchip.de still does custom Sun-Fly ceramics. (Ignore the online configurator, just send them an email, d.erhardt@animazing.de)

Unaligned has a regular price of 0.69€ per chip, minimum order is 300 chips total - minimum per denom used to be 50 chips. I got an individual offer of 0.55€ per unaligned edge chip (or €0.65 per aligned edge chip) for a 1000 chip order back in February, and for an order of this size I was allowed one denom with an amount of merely 25 pieces. Not sure if those prices are still current.

Quality is very good - for ceramic chips. Ceramics are already a good deal better than the metal insert crap, but by far not the "best" you can get.
I have meanwhile ordered a set of custom clay chips because I couldn't stand the rounded edges the chips can't stand on, the muddy graphics and the hollow clink sound.

^^ At 179 euros for 500 chips, not too bad of a deal for 9g plastic injection-molded plastics (similar to NexGen Pro, Dunes, and Desert Palms), although sets and some denominations are sold out.

Also some interesting half-pie ceramics available for around 67c/chip, but cannot address the quality compared to other ceramic manufacturers.

I haven't sent my pics because to be honest after SHIPPING is included it's not near as good of a deal as I have seen in this thread. Hope you find a great deal!
