Recommended / standard table height? (1 Viewer)

Hi guys!

Can anyone tell me if there is a standard or recommended table height?

I have a poker table top which I bought for $30 and made up a table for it to sit on. I made the table "standard" 750mm high. The poker top is about 50mm thick from the bottom to the top of the rail/cushion. So the felt sits only 40mm or so below that. I couldn't help but feel it was a touch too tall. Should I cut the base down 50mm so the cushion is at 750mm or is 800mm ok/normal?

To summarise : height from floor to top of cushion is 800mm and height of the felt is 760mm from the floor.

What Heights are other people's tables?

I would start with the chairs you will be using. If it feels too tall with those chairs, then take some off the base.

Edit. I have adjusted my table both ways over the years, based on the chairs
