For sale: 1000 x $1 Silks.

Price (REDUCED): $1700

Buyer to pay shipping and paypal fees

The chips have some really great things going for them:

LCV Paulson mold (the best!)
REAL shaped inlays (not the fake stuff)
Uncirculated condition.

Just add some $20s or $25s or something, and you've got yourself a limit set! Just about any chip you choose is going to look great with these. Unfortunately, I don't have ANY minty inlaid $20 or $25 Paulsons that I could photograph to show how great this set could be! So I've shown the Silks $1s with some Sahara plaques (these were what I was going to use if I ever put the set in play), and also with some Silver Star hotstamps. Neither the plaques nor the Silver Star chips are included in this sale. The racks not included.

If you were only interested in 8 racks instead of 10, I'd happily keep the other 2. But I figured someone might like the full 1000 chips.

OK, how about some prOn?

If you have questions, it might take me a bit to get back to you. It's time for me to call my Mom, so I'll be away from my computer for about an hour. Mother's Day, y'all!

A great deal on some minty Pausons! Good limit set to practice your mix games. GLWS

I'm not sure I've seen Paulson shaped inlays that weren't textured. Have you?
Only the more recently GPI-produced home market chips (world top hat & cane). All of the older Paulson-produced stuff is textured.

There are some smooth shaped inlay Paulsons. Ones I have off the top of my head (and probably others) - Azar $100 secondaries, RVCL $100s

Not my 2 racks. inlay is 100% smooth

You are correct sir. I had thought all casino Paulsons on the THC mold with shaped inlays were textured. Interesting that other denoms from the same set are actually textured.

edit: getting back to the Silks, they are gorgeous chips. Minty shaped inlay sexy black 1s that will make an amazing THC cash set.. GLWS

Mel, looking at the fourth picture in your post, I can swear there is cross-hatching on the face of the chip - those are textured inlays no?

The Aztar MO $100's are faux shaped inlays I believe. Looks closely, it's looks like a round inlay to me.

Apologies to Mel for the derail.. but no it's a real inlay on the Aztar MO 100.. and I think I see why the texture is smooth and not cross hatched - the $100 chip has a security dot:

which wouldn't be readable if the inlay was textured...

Mystery solved, education received. And free bumps for the awesome sale! #winwinwin

Exactly! Feel free to debate inlays as long as you like, right here. :D

No, I never really owned the black inlays for long. They basically passed through my hands in a mini (2-person) group buy situation. Sort of. Anyway, I don't have them.

I will double check when I get home. But I am pretty sure at least some are smooth? I will report back when they are in front of me.

bonus bump;)
I have had chips that are textured one side and smooth on the other

Indiana's are faux shaped inlays, Missouri (Caruthersville) are all shaped inlays (THC mold) except for the $5 (RHC)

Not surprising, since the mold itself is responsible for the resulting finish. And if they've combined LCV and SCV mold halves in the past, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to combine smooth and textured mold halves, either.....

I think it's all becoming clearer to me now, thanks to @superchromix -- the changes in molds (and mold textures - i.e., glossy inlays), and the elimination of shaped inlays, have all occurred since the transition to GPI. And what may be more pertinent, the changes have all coincided with the addition of security features and technology, some of which are not necessarily compatible with the older production techniques and materials.

I keep coming back to this thread trying to convince myself that I don't need these... I love these chips!!! (y)

Yeah, I got rid of mine because I couldn't figure out what to do with just 200 of 'em. Never considered that the best course of action was to get 800 more!

I stand corrected. The inlays are textured.

I swear, there are a few at least that seem really smooth. But I pulled a couple of random barrels and inspected...yep, textured.
