So I can't decide what chips I want. I keep bouncing between the Milanos, Majestics, and Pharaohs.

Right now I'm leaning more towards the Milanos again but have a question. Has anyone relabeled them with the stock labels so you had different colors for the denominations than standard.

I would love to have orange $1000s and silver $5000s instead of the standard yellow and pink. I love the stock $25, $100, and $500 chips.

Apache doesn't sell the orange or silver chips as blanks and doesn't sell the labels separately.

Has anyone done this or know if it's possible?

Thanks.

The Milanos are a stock item offered by multiple vendors, so I would be surprised if the labels were available separately. However, they do come off fairly easily with a knife, so you could buy equal quantities for the chips in both colours and swap labels. Not an ideal situation, but possible.

Claysmith Gaming (Trademark Poker) owns the artwork, and has refused to create custom denominations or sell labels separately. You can get blanks from them, though.

Thanks for the info. I'm curious why they would sell blanks but won't sell the labels separately. Has anyone ever said what the thinking behind this is?

No margin in labels, my guess. Factory sells 'em for less than 1c each -- not worth the trouble.

How hard would this be to do? I know it would be time consuming but it seems that removing the label would damage it and if not it would not adhere as well to the new chip.

It's not without risk. They do come off if you are careful with a razor knife. Not as easily as the labels on CPS chips, but they are removable.

However, you do risk damaging the label in the process. You could damage the edge (see lower right of this picture) or perforating it.

They might also crease slightly if you aren't careful.

So, if you go this route, buy an extra roll of each. As for how well they adhere afterwards, I can't say as I don't have a set myself that I've put into play.

One other alternative would be to buy blanks / Milanos in the colours you want, remove all of the labels, and buy custom labels for all of them. At least that way you don't have to be as careful when removing them.

I moved the 25c label to the $50 chip because the brown chip is horribly ugly and I don't use a $50 chip for anything. Removing the $50 labels was super easy as I didn't care if I ruined them. The 25c transfer was a little more difficult. I used an exacto knife and didn't lose any labels or can see any noticeable marks in them. Have never had an issue with a label falling off either. Whole process took about 2 hours for 150 chips.

That blue is great!! I agree on the brown chip. They are fugly! But I do love Milano chips!

The brown chips are not my favorite of the lot, but they are not as bad as everyone says. Not like the purple $500 majestic hahaha!

I converted some $10 chips I didn't need to $.25.

It is generic because Gear won't copy existing Milano values (fair enough) but no one notices if I don't mention it.

Sorry so old to bring back up, but I'm thinking of doing this. Did you use any additional adhesive when re-applying the label to the new chip?

Gave the chip a quick swipe with a glue stick before reapplying the label. Never had an issue with a label falling off afterwards.

Go with the Pharaohs, as said above^^^^^, or mMajestics, I think you will be happyer with Pharaohs...

I did a semi custom set for a friend and wanted to majestics but they were out of stock and I needed them sooner then restock, birthday present, I ended up doing it on the Milonos and the quality is significantly lower then the others......especial were the label goes....
