CURIOSITY has taken my Mind Over!!!
I did check the site for this info specifically but didn't find the answers i was looking for So I thought I would throw it out there and ask the experts on this site! I was communicating with another member and subject came up & then I saw on another post where someone had relabeled some high quality chips and the labels looked exactly like the labels on the other chips just a different Denomination...? it look just like the other labels. I'm can't imagine that the quality of a sealed label like on a Paulson PC chip can not be duplicated but wanting to know for certain?

1. How do you go about relabeling a quality chip like Paulson's and not cheapen the look?
2. Do the labels look the same as the chip labels your trying to match just with a different Denomination?
3. Do they stay in place on the chips?
4. Do you send the chips off and have it done in a professional manner?
5. Is there a company you use to do this?
6. What's the name of the company or companies?

Thanks for all replies in advance(y)

1.You get labels from @Gear and pat yourself on the back for making a good decision.

2. Not necessarily the exact same, but similar enough - and sometimes you can't easily tell the difference. I'll post a pic in a minute showing what I mean.

3. Absolutely.

4. Depends. if you want chips milled or if you want an inlay replaced, then yes. If you only need labels, then the best bet is to send him a chip or two (if he doesn't have one already) so he can do proper color-matching, and then he'll send you the chip back along w/the labels. You then apply the labels yourself.

5. See answer #1, along with the response of @Kyle above.

6. Gear Labels www.gearlabels.com @Gear

The quarters are milled and have a laminated label placed in the freshly milled recess.

I’ve done it using labels made by gear. Keeping in mind that he has available different kinds of lable stock in different thicknesses and finish textures to suit different purposes, I’ll say two things:

I) Generally speaking, if a chip junkie could compare a relabeled chip with an original, he’d usually be able to tell the difference.

2) Generally speaking, probably something like 99% of people would NEVER notice that chips were relabeled, if you used gear labels and followed his advice.

Wow!!! Those look Great... Exceeded my expectations! Thanks to everyone so far so such quick responses!!! (y)

This too depends upon the artwork and graphics that are being copied. Sometimes there’s issues with copyright violations where you can’t copy the exact artwork but make something similar enough to it to get by. I’ve seen some labels that are perfect and others that differ a little bit enough that you can tell.
