I believe I have contacted everyone that has requested a chip. I will finally be home late Wednesday and will get them mailed out through the weekend. If you haven't sent your address to me, please do so. I am tracking Moose and softchewy asking for 2, you got it.

For past several years, I have collected the ASM/CPC holiday themed chips. I just think they are cool chips and I use them as card guards in the month of the holiday. With that said, I have felt there is one important chip missing, Remembrance/Veteran's Day.

Like my father before me, I am a retired Soldier and feel a great sense of pride for the opportunity to serve and a greater sense of gratitude for the service and sacrifice of the many that have served their countries before me and the many serving today. So in order to pay homage to those that have served and to give back to the people of this forum, I ordered 70 of these to be given away to whomever wants one, until they are gone.

The design is from our own P5Woody, who did this project for free! THANKS WOODY
They are a 43mm ceramic from OWPS.

If you want one, send me a PM with your address and if you want to give a buck for postage great, if not, you will still get one if you want one. I will send overseas, but will require postage paid.

I am traveling for work this week and next, so getting them mailed out won't be instantaneous, but they will get sent.

You don't have to be a veteran to get a chip!

So thank you to @detroitdad, @pltrgyst, @RussB42 (the only ones on here that I know served, many more I am sure) and all the others that have served the many countries of this very small world. I had planned to post this tomorrow, but I will be traveling home so here it is.

Thank you, and God Bless You

Thank you and your father for your service.
I'd would be interested in 2 if possible (1 for my father and 1 for my uncle), will send paypal.
If just 1 per person that is fine also.

Here is a little bit about my service. I love hearing about other vets and their military history. Please share if your comfortable with it.

Two weeks after I graduated HS in 1987 I joined the Air Force. Outside of my Grandfather who served in WW II I don't have any immediate family that served in the Armed Forces. I would like to say that I was motivated to fight for my country. Honestly, I wanted to travel, gain some cool experiences, get out of my house, and well, shoot some shit.

Needless to say, my mom was a little surprised lol. Anyways, so I join the Air Force and am sent to Lackland AFB for basic training. I signed up to be a Law Enforcement Officer. While going through that training they had try outs for Canine Police Officers. I got selected. Career wise, utilizing a Military Working Dog was single handily my best experience. I worked a patrol dog for 3 of my 5 years. The other two years I worked a drug/patrol dog. Lots of work, and lots of fun.

My assignments weren't as exciting as my career. My first assignment was Grand Forks AFB, N.D. The best thing about this assignment was meeting Colleen (were at 27+ years YEAH). While at GFAFB in 88 I was sent to Howard AFB in Panama. That was a crazy three months. After GFAFB I was assigned to a remote assignment to Kunsan AFB, South Korea. This assignment was my reason for exiting the service. At the time of my deployment I had to leave my fairly new wife and 9 month old daughter for one year. I just couldn't put the military ahead of my family. I decided it was time to pursue other options.

Its really tough to find a job while stationed in Korea. I extended my service term for one year. Guess where they sent me. Minot AFB, ND. (The Air Force really didn't want me staying lol).

I have some cool canine stories that I could share. I could type forever talking about it. I'm sure it would end up being a post for one.

Anyways, thanks for this thread. If you see a vet. Just shake their hand and say thanks. It does mean something to them.

Interesting! Have you read Robert Crais's novel "Suspect", written half from the viewpoint of an LAPD canine officer, Scott James, and half from the viewpoint of his ex-military explosive-sniffing dog, Maggie? If so, what did you think of it?

I haven't read it. I will look for it.

I'd love to add one to my challenge coins. Air Force Reserve here. Thank you for your service.

Thank you for the great giveaway!!!

Veterans Day is a special day for me, because I think about the men and women that have given me the freedom to live in this country. My grandfather served in World War II and my Dad and Uncle served in Vietnam. Tremendous respect and gratitude, enjoy your day!!!
