Man, I grew up on Jimmy Buffett. My dad would often play his songs on guitar and sing. The one below was particularly awkward for me to hear as a kid.

Here’s to Bubba. I’m sure he’s eating his cheeseburger in paradise, smiling down on all the Parrot Heads.

...All the stories we could tell, if it all blows up and goes to hell, I wish that we could sit upon a bed in some hotel, and listen to the stories HE could tell.

One of the greatest lyricist ever. He will forever live in my heart and soul.

I wasn't much of a fan until probably my mid 20s, but since then I've grown to love his music, and I've seen him in concert several times. The news this morning was sad and surprising.

My best friends are lifelong Parrotheads, and they are devastated.

Always loved his music, one song in particular. Way back when I got divorced just after turning 40, I had a folk singer buddy who did a lot of Buffett's music and ran a weekly open mike at Gallagher's pub in Washington, DC. Whenever I walked in, he'd end his current song and jump right into A Pirate Looks at Forty. We had Margaritas and cheeseburgers for lunch at our club today...

For fellow Parrotheads, this is an incredibly sad day in music.

He will be missed terribly, and no one will ever replace his uniqueness.

I have grown up to his music and have seen him every year since ‘96.

Summers will be a little different now, knowing he won’t be around.

His music will live on.

One of the first songs my buddy taught me when I first started playing guitar...

RIP Jimmy! :(

Damn…didn’t know this. . Gonna try and choose to remember the joy and good times that he brought!!!

I decided to travel down to Key West on a Jimmy Buffett memorial pilgrimage. I booked my flight, hotel, and rental car Monday night and flew down at 6am Tuesday. Headed home today. It felt really good to walk around the island and visit Jimmy Buffett’s former haunts, and to see his studio.

He will be missed immensely. His music will live on forever.

Started listening to Jimmy when I was 14 and saw the video for Who's the Blonde Stranger. Joined the ranks of Parrotheads in my 20s and he has been a huge part of summers, the beach and the pool, and just everyday since then, so much so that my son was singing Cheeseburger in Paradise at church (OOPS)

Was supposed to see him for the first in Dallas in '02, but due to 2 broken arms, I had to wait to lose my Jimmy Buffett concert virginity until April of '06 in Dallas. Saw him 10 times counting that first show and loved them all. As Jimmy would say "Oh, the stories we could tell..."

I will miss his shows, and am disappointed that my son never got to attend a show, but his music will live on forever.

Leaving this here since it got me started

I talked my parents when I was 13yo into taking me to see Buffett. ‘96 Banana Wind Tour. Saw him every year after that.

Was lucky to see him in Vegas in March.

Same about my daughter. I was hoping to take her next summer to see him (she will be 8). It wasn’t meant to be
