The only good thing about the trip is visiting with my father whom I hadn't seen in three years. Jake and I drove straight through on SUN. MON. morning about 4 am I wake up and start vomiting. That goes on for about 6 hours with a small fever and chills. Then it starts coming out all ends..........fucking horrible. Anything I ate through yesterday came out very quickly one way or another. So much for fried chicken, fried crappie, home made wine/beer/whiskey. I usually put on 5 pounds down here. I'm pretty sure I lost weight this trip.
The game plan was to leave this morning. We (Jasper Alabama) got hit with 6 inches of snow. To the north of us they got 12 inches. Oh, and little to none snow removal. While I'm figuring out what were going to do my son informs me that he is now sick.........Were staying for another day or two. Stranded in the snow. Hopefully he gets through it with less misery than I did.
Here are some pictures.
We thought it would be funny to send this to momma shortly after we left Michigan
Dad/Step Mom
My boy and my dads dog. Slept there all night........Dozer.........very fun loving dog.
6 gallons of home made Black Cherry Wine that we then bottled. Jake bottled and I corked them.
I'm bringing back about 20-30 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of corn whiskey, 12 pack of wheat beer. Dad makes it all.
Recipe for the Corn Whiskey
I cut a bunch of antlers off a couple of racks my dad had. My dog loves chewing on these. They are the only thing that lasts more than a day (each one lasts about 4 months). Their about 15 bucks a pop at Tractor Supply.
HillyBilly Glazed Ham. He buys the ham and has them slice it. They he coats it in honey and brown sugar. Holy shit was this good.
Asked my wife for a sexy selfie............this is all she would send me.
For the first time in decades, they get a fucking blizzard while were down here.
If the boy is feeling better tomorrow we'll come home. If not, we delay our trip home until he is better.
