So buying roulette chips has lead me to this....a need for another place to store my chips. I think I need to start focusing on building shelving instead of tables.

Well it's done! Probably my best build yet. The lamination of the curved pieces was new for me. Surprisingly with my amateur skills, it's rock solid. Love to hear your comments on the colors. The color choices were my wife's pick, so because she tolerates not only my build projects but more importantly my chip obsession, I'm good with that. Budget was about $250, including the wheel. (Thanks craigslist! (y))

I know roulette tables are not very popular, but this was a fun one. I'm going to keep it as a table topper for easy storage.

Thanks for looking!

Well done. Have you thought of painting the curved piece?

I'm curious to see which chip stack orientation you go with during play. I see you've got it setup 2 different ways.

Nice looking table.

Great work. I love the colours. I'd probably paint the curved piece personally. Maybe a gloss black or something. But other than that it looks great.

No money slot in the table? Was that a conscious choice?

Yeah, painting was considered. It's only hardboard and I was hesitant because in my past experience, it took on a different appearance with paint applied. It accentuated the fiber construction and I was happy with this look so I left it. I will test on a scrap and see how it turns out. I will let you know which bank configuration works best.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

I did omit a money slot intentionally because I don't prefer them. I will use this for a fun casino night type thing and people would 'buy in' in a different manner and bring the valued denominations to the roulette table.

Another solid project, very well done. I'm curious how big that wheel is?

The wheel is a Dal Negro 50cm (~20 inch) wheel made in Italy. My best find ever on craigslist for the low, low price of about ONE Secondary $25K HS-CLE. ;) My research has them new on eBay for $450+.

It smells of mahogany...well not really, but it is made of it.

Approx. dimensions: 50cm total diameterl. 24cm inner wheel, Balls are 15mm diameter

So, at the casinos I noticed that the people at the roulette tables who do the sorting of chips (if they don't have the automatic sorter) have these acrylic guides to help align the chips or to easily move the stacks around. I was looking online for something like it, but not only could I not find anything like it, I have no idea what they are even called. I would think someone sells them, but whatever, I decided to make my own.

I found a cutting board at Ikea which does the trick. (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60233426/)

It's the perfect size for this if you rip it in half. The board is designed with this weird parallelogram design so if you desire, you'll need to squares the edges too. A few cuts, a little sanding and you have a chip stack sorter thing for $5. I think everybody can use a chip stacker sorter thing, right?

As added bonus: it's another thing you can oil!

I’m about to start building my first roulette table. I’ve never built any sort of table. Currently gathering supplies and will most likely start construction in January. Lots of great poker table builds that I will apply everyone’s advice from. I’ll try and document the process as best I can. If anyone else has any Roulette table build pics and tips I would love to see them. It looks as if the curved laminated fence will be the most tricky. @iballman do you have any advice on this part? Did you build a mold to press your sheets together? Is it all 1 piece?

Measure your inside bet boxes carefully. They should be at least 2 full chip widths in either direction to accommodate straight up bets, all splits, and all corners on the same number (if possible).

Very well done! I actually like the wood vs painting it!
