This is not a dibs ad. I am ignoring all PMs regarding these chips at the moment. If I cannot decide who to sell these to based on any responses here (read below) I will likely do a raffle. Entries would be free with the winner paying $30USD (probably more for overseas, I will confirm this later if needed).

These chips have served their purpose for me and now I'd like to send them to someone else who could use them. I'm not sure how I'm going to decide who gets them, but if you're interested please leave a post here mentioning chips you are using now (no need for pics but they are welcome), chips you'd like to collect, and maybe chips you have used before that caused you to hunt down some nicer ones! Anything funny or amusing in your post is welcome and if I have problems deciding in the event of lots of interest I may do a tiny raffle or something.

Included:

4 china clay sample sets (Dunes are the older ones, not sure how they compare to the newer chips)
1 CPC Atlantic Club A-mold sample set
1 Paulson Classic sample set ($1000 chip is dirty from contact with $500 chip, there is minor color transfer on some of the other chips as well)

Price $30USD shipped CAN/CONUS (anything else I will have to check on cost). This includes untracked, uninsured shipping only. Other options available at additional cost and I'd be willing to refund half the purchase price in the event of a lost shipment.

The time frame on shipping these is not set in stone as I'm expecting to be quite busy next week, but a good guess would be next weekend.

Happy chipping! :)

Awesome offer! A few weeks ago I'd have been all over this but after my lucky craigslist find I think I've had enough good fortune for now :-)

Sold! Was just thinking I needed some sample sets to get back into chipping a little bit.

Edit - I read the whole post now. Doh! It does not pay to be distracted by three things at once. In the spirit of the offer, I'll withdraw my desire for now and maybe post again later.

Please read the OP. I'm sure you'd make good use of them and I'd be happy to send them to you but I'm wanting to leave this here for a few days to a week and to hear from multiple chippers (not dibs).

@FDLmold
@Francisho

In a dibs sense, FDLmold is first. I was hoping to see what chips other people were looking for not included in my sale and if I had some others I could part with I would add them to it (probably for a little more money). Shipping costs alone for these are $13USD to the US!

I guess there's no way to police this but if you guys could "borrow" these sample sets and then pass them along to the next person I'd probably be okay with selling them this weekend instead of waiting another week. I'll probably wait at least another 24 hours.

I meant to start a thread discussing how to sell sample chips like these in a fun way lol... I guess my thread is so unusual that people aren't used to it :)

Edit:

And now I see @FDLmold 's edit. Not as easy to catch! I'm going to wait and see who else would like a chance at these :)

I would certainly be interested. The only chips I have at the moment or from a local casino that I have harvested slowly, and some Horshoe Cleveland's I've been trying to acquire

For now I am going to kindly ignore all PMs regarding purchasing these chips. I feel like this might end up being a much tougher decision than I thought...

In the event of a raffle I will keep anyone who has posted here with interest in mind. If that is what I do, it would be a free entry with the winner paying the $30.

What casino (not that I'd have any)? I'm guessing mostly $1 chips? Are you trying to combine them with horseshoe cleveland chips for a cash set?

I have two sets. Both ceramic
( valentino, nevada jack) if the cps group buy happens i might get in on it. It would be nice to have samples and if i ever win the lottery ill be buying atlantic hot stamps. Would be nice to have samples of those too

I edited my original post because I don't want to look like I'm trying to boost my post count. I still have rookie numbers. Got to pump those up.

From the six sets, I am the most attracted to the Paulson and CPS samples. If CPS 2 happens, I'd like to know what they are like. And I have no Paulsons at present. Got to have at least a few Paulsons, right? The only realistic samples you might have that I don't see are the Sun-Fly hybrids. It would be nice to touch a few of those before committing to the Bdwalk group buy.

The rest I am "meh" on and could send those on for cheap. At one time I had samples of all of them, or something close anyway. The only chips I ever regret selling are a full TRK Deadwoods sample set. It was nice having a decent-sized stack of TRKs to shuffle and admire.

Ok, well I'm back on track for the original plan. Wait and see who else is interested and if I can't decide after a week at most, likely a raffle.

I wouldn't mind seeing those Sunfly hybrid chips again. That sample set didn't last very long in my hands, mostly because I saw a wanted ad and didn't think I'd ever buy any. Now I'm considering an iron bank hybrid set... lol

I really appreciate this activity. Thank you Frank for making this post to motivate us to share our chipping experience.

I joined this forum just one a and half month ago. I was a "virgin" chipper before I joined this forum, and all I've been using before in my home game are dice chips. The reason I googled "poker chip" is because I was really amazed by the chips displayed in a TV show called "High Stake Poker". Back then, I didn't know that they are actually real casino chips, and I wanted to buy a set of those and upgrade my home game. After a few google searches, I was exposed to an idea called "Paulson chips", and by then I thought Paulson classics is the only Paulson set, and I really love their design, but to my surprise, I could not find a single vendor that is not "out of stock"...

After I joined this forum, immediately as many friends here said I "jumped into a rabbit hole". I still remembered the first post I clicked into in "classified" is @MegaTon44 's sale of 500pc cash set of Paulson Classic. I immediately replied 'I'll take it". I was thinking "god treated so well", but unfortunately someone claimed the set before me, and I missed the chance to own a set of Paulson Classic.

After scrolling at the forum for a while I finally understand what does it mean by "Paulson", I posted a post called "should a new chipper buy Paulson", which had a lot more replies than I expected. I was astounded by that many helpful and kind advice by PCF members, and I really appreciated them. So I heeded a piece of advice and bought 500 pieces of horseshoe Cincinnati chips from Chip Exchange on this forum. Trust me it really thrilled me when I received those chips. It cost me three afternoons to clean them, and despite exhausted, I truly enjoyed the process.

Recently I developed a strong interest in PCA secondary chips. Like my gf said and I quoted "those chips are so beautiful". Yeah, those $5 PCA secondary chips are by far my favorite red chips. So I actively searched for PCA-related post on this forum, and luckily I won an auction, which brought me this set.

My chipping journey is still active and I really appreciate this forum for dragging me down this rabbit hole with so many helpful advice and beautiful chips.

Hehe, I'm sure you'll love those PCAs, nice score! I wonder how big your set will end up? My empress set just keeps on growing lol.

Why don't I tell a little story about my chipping adventures too :).

Back in 2006 I bought my first "real" poker chip set. Actually they were advertised as the usual "100% clay" meaning "100% crap" lol but I didn't know any better. I say this because I bought an even cheaper set before that at Walmart I believe just to start playing. In hindsight, those were the absolute worst chips I've ever seen, can't remember what they're called but those really thin and light things that stack like absolute crap (they might have been light enough to levitate, in which case they wouldn't have been too bad lol). Not sure where they ended up.

Anyways, I've used the dice chips I bought in 2006 for a long time, up until about a year ago from now. Even though I would have much preferred having denoms (or to get a too expensive at the time Paulson Classic set from Apache since I got samples from there in 2009), mine did seem to be the best of anyone else's sets that I played with. Some of my friends would even tell hosts: Frank has chips he'll bring, his are really nice! LOL

Fast forward to 2016, and here I am on PCF. I don't even remember EXACTLY how I stumbled onto PCF, all I knew was I always wanted some nicer chips. I was starting to find lots of chips that I had absolutely no idea about! For the longest time I thought my only options were one of the three home market Paulson samples I had which were no longer available (I don't go to casinos much and probably never would have thought about harvesting any chips there before joining PCF).

With the help of many nice people here I think I have a pretty impressive hoard of chips, a few of them are pictured (okay... maybe about half!). It helped that I had some money saved up too :)

Selling chips is another story. As a straight up sale this is my first ad. In total I've sold just over 400 chips. I've bought just a few more than that (I don't think I qualify as a new chipper anymore):)

I wasn't going to post any pics of my unfinished empress set... but it seemed appropriate to post this one now. Huge thanks goes out to @liftapint , I really don't know how many of these chips I would have if it weren't for her help!

Sounds like the red/white/blue Bicycle chips. About $2 or $3 for a pack of 100. CHEAP.

And the heck with the samples in your original post. Now I just want the loose chips in that cardboard box there. They're sexy!

Oh really? I didn't think anyone would want those. Those would be the dice chips I was referring to in my post that I've used for about 10 years. I was thinking of getting rid of them but didn't think anyone would want them. Then I changed my mind thinking I should keep them for a travel/camping/whatever set just in case. If I get some ceramic hybrids though, maybe those could take their place....

And if you were joking... :oops:, sounded like you were serious though.

How is the poker room there in Erie? Im up in BUF but wouldnt mind going down there for a tourney or 2..... or a home game :)
The games are solid. Tournament structure is good. Sunday afternoon tournaments and the guarantee events usually have good turnouts. Played the 5k guarantee last night, 57 entrants. Cash games are ok. 2-4 tables of 1-3 Holdem. Occasionally a 2-5.

Just a reminder to anyone interested, these won't be going out until next weekend at the earliest (but shouldn't be any later). I may not be very responsive until Friday as well.

Any other newer chippers interested in these chips come on down and leave a post! :)

It's starting to look like I'll be too busy to ship these out this weekend. New estimated time is late next week or else next weekend.

@FDLmold @TronBastian @Lash @Francisho

If each of you are still interested, I'll do my best to come up with a way to involve you all in this sale. A raffle...of sorts, but I'm hoping to add a little twist of some kind :).

Why not make these a forum resource? People can check out the samples, just like they'd check out books from a library. Before the chips ship out, the other persons pays a reasonable cost + shipping to them. When they ship them back (say after 30 days), the cost gets refunded. End result is that they only pay for shipping and can feel/handle/see a sample set before they buy.

I understand if you are not interested in being the "librarian"...

They'll eventually get stolen. Unfortunately people aren't particularly honest. "I don't know what happened, someone stole them from my house!"

...which is why they pay for the set + shipping and they get the cost back when they return the set. If they don't return the set, no refund.
